I've been looking at this for a couple of months now. It's also available for $99.99 direct from RCA, though you can save on shipping if you do the in-store pickup at Best Buy.

I don't know as though it could be called "inferior to everything else on the market," as I haven't found another 5 disc mp3 player without moving up to a 5 disc DVD player. Yes, it feels "cheap" and it is an RCA (so we're not talking the highest quality, of course), but from what I've read and seen of it in Best Buy, it looks like it does the trick.

Didn't mean to be so negative, so I updated the original post.... I have several friends who are quite happy with RCA products. I myself have had an RCA TV for 8 years with no trouble.

How about ..."It's serviceable...."?

Also Etronics.com will have this soon and they are usually 15-30% Cheaper than B&M stores.
 
Im trying to consolidate all my remotes into one. I have an RCA tv, RCA VHS player, and RCA dvd player. I want to get a CD changer. Is there an RCA remote that will control all of these functions on ONE remote? I HATE having 4 different remotes... arghh
 
Hmm, if everything is RCA, you might be able to find one from RCA's Universal Remote page. The RCU800 looks like it would handle everything, or the RCU810 if you want to go nuts.

As for me, I have a Zenith TV, Magnavox VCR, Toshiba DVD, Sony PS2, TEAC receiver, Pioneer front speakers, and KLH surround speakers. I guess I should get this RCA MP3 player to complete the electronics set!
 
Good Find! This is the first cg changer that plays mp3s as far as I know.
Does anybody know its mp3 navigation abilities?
Does it display ID3? Folders? Long filenames? Reads multisession?
Programs song sequences?
 
Sounds good to me. Especially since my CD player has had a problem for quite some time. I'll open it up tomorrow and if I can't fix the problem this will be a great replacement. Great to be able to play MP3s. I'm going to BB tonight to look at it. And I have my 10% off coupon that I can use on the 15th.

If this is the same rca carousel, it can be had on sale for $80 or so

This can easily be confused witth their 8070 Unit, but I think this is a brand new UNIT.
