In less than an hour, rc5 will be up-to-date in the new stats processing
system. This means we can finally migrate to a single code base for everything,
which paul is working on. It also means improved data integrity for the future,
as the new stats system has extensive auditing to ensure that errors don't go
un-detected. Unfortunately, in order to move the RC5 info into the new system
without re-processing every log that exists for RC5, we had to make some
assumptions about the data that is in the old system, which does contain some
inconsistencies. Correcting this will require re-processing all existing RC5
logs, which will happen at some point in the future.

Anyway, look for a new set of stats pages in the near future.

Moo!

No new stats since the 4th... guess it didn't go as smoothly as they thought, and can't be bothered to let people know what's going on...

eh? ,does that mean that all of RC5 will have to be re-cracked?!:Q

Btw how does TA's RC5 output compare to before the mass exodus?

If I communicated with my clients/customers the way they do with us, I'd be out of a job.

"Oh... you noticed that our system was down for 3 days? Well, you know, it *was* the weekend after all..."

Kinda sux badly compared to the days when this team ruled RC5 :(

Ahhh... now they are down completely 'for maintenance'... *sigh* still no updates in the plans... Man, this is getting old....

Assim, relax, that doesn't mean that we'll have to re-crack RC5. What Decibel is talking about is giving you back all your lost blocks by having the statsbox recrunch the RC5-64 logs from Day 1, under which the new integrity checks will make sure everything is right. Now, why the stats are down, I can only assume. But if I had to take a guess, they're simply having problems. Isn't the first time, and probably won't be the last(I mean afterall, you try keeping track of 2^36 worth of WU's).

ViRGE- that's how I understood it also... reprocess all of the logs since day 1... hopefully in order! ;)

It's absolutely true that this isn't the first time they've had problems, and probably won't be the last time either, but what makes it annoying is that they don't bother to let anyone participating in the project know what's going on.

GeoffS - I can't even begin to explaine how pissed off I am that the managed to screw up the stats again! :|

I was about to pass the 8.3M milestone that would have put me in the top 500 of all time (behind you and ForceSHO) when B A M they decide to change how they process stats and it balls up the whole damn system. Way to go Decible! Do these losers know how addicted to stats we are? They've had me hooked now for just about three years. I can't go cold turkey like this. Why can't they invent a damn patch or something for the withdrawl symptoms?

Bgod,

Man, you want to be the poster child for Stats Addiction. ;)

Sorry to hear you missed that milestone. You work so hard and get no real reward other than looking at the page and seeing the milestone, and you miss that opprotunity. Oh well, now you can look forward to possibly being in the top 250.

Actually it's relatively bigger hit that than that, due tendency of crack rates rising even with same amount of members because machines keep getting faster.

If I remember correctly, TAcube had around 250k-300k blocks/day in the old days. Now it is down to about 40k/day.
