RC5 Question

hey, im new to this. but i cant figure out how to start crackin key's or whatever it is work packets..
i followed the instructions and all but when i go to Update Buffer's it says Output buffers are empty, and input buffer's are full.
if you can, please help me out, or tell me what i doin wrong

You just need to wait until it has finished a packet or two. When it says the out is empty that means it hasn't completed one yet.

Make sure your doing RC5(if thats what you want to do), if your doing OGR stubs they will take a long time to complete.

Welcome to Team Anandtech, WishMaster! : ) Keep on posting any questions you might have. Wulf brought up a good point... if your client says something similar to

[Sep 18 07:55:52 UTC] Loaded OGR stub 25/1-12-16-15-2-18 (52.00% done)

then it's cracking OGR. If it says it's loaded an RC5 packet then you're on RC5. Also, it will sometimes take Distributed.net's system up to a couple days to get your stats listed so you can get your password and join a team, so don't worry if it seems to be taking a while.

edit: guess I'll mention that there are separate stats areas for RC5-64, OGR-24, and OGR-25, so if you are not finding your stats, make sure you're looking in the right place too.

WishMaster,

First of all...Welcome to Team Anandtech Distributed Computing..

To get the D.net client to work only on RC5, edit the dnetc.ini file in your Distributed.net directory and add the following line:

[misc]
project-priority=RC5,DES=0,CSC=0,OGR=0

Save, restart the client, and off to RC5 cracking you go!

Welcome aboard 🙂

Hey thanks i got it going now, but i have to let it run for 24 hours to get my pw before i can join Team Anandtech, correct?
btw, thanks for your welcoming's and help

Sometimes, it will take longer...depending on how fast D.net runs the stats run for the day...

Then again, sometimes it will be just a little faster...

It seems that it has been trouble getting your e-mail listed the last couple of days...Maybe it'll get better.

Again welcome to Team Anandtech (Remember to join as soon as you can...!🙂)...Enjoy the show!🙂

You have to request it. Just find your stats page on Dnet, and the request link will be at the bottom of that page.🙂

Go Here! and type in your e-mail address in the search box. If they have updated the stats and you are listed, there will be a link at the bottom of your stats page (button) - "Please email me my password". Click on that link and wait for your password. Once received, go Here and click on the link at the bottom of the page: 'I want to join this team'. Enter the e-mail and password when prompted and welcome to Team Anandtech! 😀😀😀
