Hi all, I'm new to this RC5 stuff. Just downloaded the client last night and its now crackin away :) . However, its been 24 hours, I can't get my password or stats from distributed.net . When I enter the first part of my email addy, it can't find nothin. Have I just not waited long enough or somthin?

Right now the stats are being updated. Try your Email in about an hour or so. If not. Try tomorrow.

The reason why it takes longer then 24 hours sometimes is lets say you joined at 6pm cst. Your first block doesn't get sent till after 7pm The stats begin to run at 7pm cst. But they don't get done till after 12. or sometimes later. Try back in a few and it should be there. Otherwise it won't be on the list till tomorrows' update.

Welcome to the team!!!!!!!!!! And ask anything else you would like to know.

Give it till tomorrow and you should see your stats.
After you see your stats on dnet there will be a link at the bottom of the page thats labelled "I cannot remember my password. Please email (my) password". Click this link and the D.net server should email you your password almost immediately. Note the password and retain the email for your archives.

Click on this hyperlink:Team AnandTech
This will take you to the Team AnandTech stats page at D.net (sometimes the page is down temporarily during stats updates, please wait an hour or two and try again). Near the bottom of this page is a hyperlink labelled "I want to join this team". Click it. Your browser will request a user name (your full email address), and a password (from the D.net email). Click OK.

Great to have you aboard, K6 3!!! It's always nice to see new members :D. Yeah, like wolf said, just ask us ANYTHING if you are unsure about something. Also, as an alternative to using your own email addy to crack with, you can join a miniteam if you would like. There are a few "miniteams" around in which the members all crack under the same email addy. You can still see your individual stats using pproxies and stuff like that.

Hey man, again, nice to have you with us! We'll teach you how to go out there and assimilate ASAP!!

Thanks for the nice welcome guys! Hmm....checked for my stats and password, still won't show them. Am I doing something wrong?? The client is running ok, I know that for sure. I updated the buffers yesterday, and that went ok too. But still no stats.

If you don't have the following line in your dnetc.ini file, you will be doing OGR:

[misc]
project-priority=OGR=0,DES=0,CSC=0,RC5

If this is the case, you can look for your password at the OGR stats page. Your password is the same for RC5 and OGR, so you can get your password that way.

Welcome to the Team, K6 3! :D

Check and make sure you are not doing OGR blocks. The client will start cracking OGR by default.

Double check that the email addy you specified is correct.

Also, you may have missed the update window last night, so if the other stuff is ok, see if it's there tomorrow.

Good Luck! :D

ohhh...i'm doing ogr then, cause I didn't change anything. the addy is correct, I checked. Must have missed the damn update window or something, so I'll just check tommorow.

Ok, so to change to rc5, I just add that line that sciencewhiz gave me to the ini file?

Yes, just add it to the end of your ini file. If you already have a line like that, then just replace the line there with the lines I gave you. Then restart the client.
