The website selling these is also selling them on ebay. You can bid on his auction where he is selling them for 99 cents plus $6.95 shipping. The total cost comes out to only $7.94 shipped. You'll have to wait a day for the auction to end though. He has 79 available.

These were selling for about $25 at the last computer show I went too. Apparently the prices are much better online for these.

the 3 I ordered came today.. all 49mhz, which is unfortunate on the one hand, but I'll just distribute them such that they don't end up living in the same place.. one to my nephew at william and mary, one to my son at home, one to the daughter's boyfriend at usc.. no conflict.

may see if I can't find another couple on a different frequency now though..

I knew they were going to need batteries, based on my experience with the little rc cars last year.. I just couldn't remember what kind! and.. I can't remember where i ordered those now.. it was a pretty good deal too, and let me pick frequencies.. I wonder if they have boats..

off to wander through old e-mail..

I received my boat today but it doesn't work. I think the rechargeable battery in the boat must be dead. When you charge the boat how long does it take before the light on the charger turns off? For me, it's been taking around 3 minutes. I charged it 3 times in a row like it says in the instructions and it still doesn't work. The boat even feels a little warm from charging it. Is this normal? Anyone else have any problems?

I just got my three boats, and they suck! They should be called "Slow Speed" Boats, not Speed Boats! :D

They take about 3 minutes to charge, and the hull gets very warm. You have to switch the boat off to charge, and don't forget to switch it back on again when the charging light goes out.

Put them in water, and it is impossible to get them to go straight because one motor always runs faster than the other. At best you have to zig-zag to go straight.

I have one boat that only one of the motors works reliably. Press the button three times, nothing. Press it a couple more times and the motor might work. What a PITA.

And to top it all off, all three work on the same frequency! It is impossible to have a race between two boats. Although I was LOL when I put all three boats in the tub at the same time and controlled them all at once with one remote control! It was like a boat demolition derby. :D

The thing that had me ROTFL was the instructions that say "Remember to avoid water."!!!
and "Don't play outdoors during thunderstorms" and "Wipe clean with something like a a towel after playing"
and"The toys is designed for indoor use only. Outdoor use may lead to malfunction caused by dirt or waste"
and "Bring back to shore before the battery power is running out". (I thought this was an indoor toy only?).
I think they need some help with their "Engrish"!!! :D

They are kind of fun, and I've certainly blown $25 on worse stuff, but make sure the motors work before you give them to a child as a present, or you may disappoint a kid on X-Mas...

actually they're awesome in a pool. in a bathtub they don't have enough space to get to full speed. they go full speed after about 6-8 feet and its not bad at all. you have to have both motors go forward at the same time to go straight forward....was pretty simple for me.

These guys have terrible customer service. They sold me a broken boat and won't even respond to my emails. I don't know why they are too cheap to replace it when the boats are so cheap. From reading their feedback on Ebay it seems whenever someone receives broken goods they don't do anything to remedy the situation and their common response is "broke during shipping" and it's not their fault.
