I buy from these guys every now and then. They get some crazy deals on their site. I was just emailed today about this deal. They have 1000 left that they're blowing out at $10 or less and free shipping.

The play time is probably only a couple of minutes so I wouldnt play with it somewhere I would have to swim to retrieve it.

The ones i got are actually really cool. They go for about 10-15 minutes and charge up in about a minute. I bought 3 for $25 this time around. At $8 per boat that covers 3 christmas gifts. and FREE SHIPPING!!

Nice find. Somehow I don't think they are going to be in the same class as...

"Tickle Me Elmo, Playstation 2, Furby, Beanie Babies, and now......Radio Controlled Mini Boats?!?!? That's right! This is going to be one of the hottest toys this year!"

yah, they can flip over. it's got a separate charger.

they may not be as cool as tickle me elmo but at $10 they're definitely worth it.

If I get three for $24.95, can my three kids all play with them at the same time? How many different frequencies do they operate on? I remember that my cheap RC cars from 10 years ago only operated at one of only two frequencies, making it impossible to use three at a time...

god kcemhs, what size batteries do they take? AAA?

I ordered 3.. they'll make good gifts for someone! we're going to be on a cruise at christmas so.. boats are.. thematic!, and there's a 24 hour pool just down from our cabins.. the boys (son and 2 nephews.. big boys, 16, 19, 22) could race 'em in the pool, if they come in enough different frequencies.. or.. maybe they'll go to my daughter's boyfriend and his roommate.. they could race them in the reflecting pool across from their dorm.. or.. maybe son, younger nephew, daughter's boyfriend.. or.. son, daughter's boyfriend, boyfriend's brother, or..

heh. I have more people they'll suit than I have boats coming, but.. that's ok.. at least I won't wind up with extra boats! but.. would like to have the right size batteries on hand..

anno, does this answer yer question?

Specifically, they utilize a dual, rechargeable, nickel metal hydride (Ni-NH) battery

actually they just take regular AA batteries in the charging unit. the controller uses a 9 volt. i ordered a bunch more to give away as x-mas gifts. they're cheap enough and the kids will think i paid more. i bought 6 for the guys at work too. i think we'll set up a tub track or something to entertain us.

so they DON'T include batteries or the charger?

Hmmm.... sorry, not to crap, but god kcemhs seems to be pushing this site..... but hey, they look kinda neat...just really don't like the lack of info, and the lack of responses to questions from the ONE guy who has them... hmmm....

sorry i missed your question. basically the boat , controller and charger are all separate units. those little mini r/c cars last year had the charger attached to the controller. they are separate with the boats. the charger has a little cord which plugs into the boat to charge the boat. it will run about 10 minutes or so before it poops out and then takes about a minute to recharge.

the range of these things i pretty awesome. i had one go out about 100 feet in a lake along the banks so that i wouldn't lose it. pretty cool

Nope....not better price....why?

They show $7.99 on your link....click on any of the boats...."sale" price is now $9.
ok, fine.....$9 each......BUT, doesn't include shipping.

Example of pre-order to Seattle, Wa

Total Purchases 9.00
Shipping 5.39 (Ground...aka cheapest)
Tax 0.00
---------
Total 14.39

But...for those who are adventerous....they have 48 of them for $244....that's about $5 each.... I would bet larger distributors are paying about $2-3 each.....so production cost is about $1-2

yah, that link to egrand is shady. first it's $7.99 then it's $9. Then you can't see how much shipping is. It's about $16 shipped. How does that compare to $10 or 3 for $25 shipped??
