RB6Vegas vs RB6 Vegas 2

I've got both of these (one I own, one currently from GameFly) and both have an online capability. I personally liked Vegas 2 better but I've never played online with any of these games before.

Anyone have any insight/pointers to share about multiplayer?

Both are VERY good games for multiplayer - very little differences between them, mechanics-wise.

Since you like R6V2 better, I'd stick with that - you're also apt to find more people online more playing #2 vice the original.

Not sure if you can play the new maps with the original (?), but that would be my only other concern.

You seem to be referring to vs. modes, but just in case...

I know the co-op multiplayer was completely neutered of its story in R6V1. It was fun to play, but they never filled you in on any of the story, which was very annoying. I don't know if they fixed it in #2.

I wasn't necessarily referring to vs. type games, I'd like to do the co-op story mode as well. I just didn't have a clue which one would be more apt to find people to play.

And how do you handle the squad stuff in that? Someone is elected squad leader and the others just follow their orders via voice commands?

In the first one's co-op multiplayer there were no squad members outside of my real-world, split-screen friend. It changed the game quite a bit.

I hope someone can weigh in on whether this changed in the sequel, because then I would be interested.

I'm waiting for it to come down to $30, so I don't know for sure. According to the promo videos, the co-op campaign has a "jump in anytime" feature. The host commands the two AI teammates as in single player. The video includes a clip where it looks like the second player spawns on the roof and rappels down to regroup with the team.

R6V2 is the better of the two. In fact, R6V2 is extremely similar to the first game. THey just fixed most of the problems from the first one, and polished it up a bit. Unfortunately, myself and everyone i knew who played the first game a lot, didn't play R6V2 much because they were too similar and it felt like we were playing the exact same game almost with new maps. Not to mention the fact that everyone got sucked into COD4.
