I hates Razrs I do. They are junk, it's the number one most replaced phone in our network, from what I've seen. Also, what with the crappy way Moto forces you to get into the programming menu? Seriously, most of the idiots on the other end of the line can barely turn their phones on, much less punch in "77643# CLR CLR" in the exact span of time and at the right speed. Die moto, die.

Oh yea, we're finally getting a CDMA Slvr. =/

My old Sprint phone was a Samsung A900, the old style with the metal case. It feel from waist-height one and took a chunk out of the pavement, THAT thing is a tank.

Are they also the most used phone on your network?

Again, from what I've seen, the most use phones on our network are the dirt-cheapest phones a person can get. Even those are replaced less often then the RAZR.

My complaints about the razor are lack of features, clunky interface for the menus, poor sound quality, and AWFUL battery life.

That being said, most phones have the same issues.

I like the Samsung A900 and the el-cheapo LG VX 5 and 8 series.

the a900 is what im using now. multiple drops, NOTHING is broken or damaged. its literally a tank and then some.

great phone, just crappy battery life (i dont use multimedia features that much), average reception, and the phone is a bit slow in menus.

You're an idiot. My wife and I have both had Razr's for well over a year...I'm closing in on 2 years with no problems whatsoever...and this is with multiple drops from both of us. Actually the phone has recovered from drops significantly better than past phones. Everyone has different experiences...but Razr's are not particularly fragile.

this pretty much sums up the history of my razr as well as at least 3 friends of mine. im talking about the v3c or v3m only.. verizon razr's they are built to last, i have dropped mine at least 8 times onto concrete/asphalt with no problems whatsoever (besides visible damage to the outside of the phone)

edit: and just to give you some examples of the falls it has taken in the past year and a half heres a few that i remember:

3 times at least, i had my cell phone on my lap while driving and when I got out of the car i didn't think and just got up heaving the RAZR off my lap and onto asphalt.

anjother time i dropped it from ear height while using the phone (im 6' 1" btw) and it fell onto concrete

another time I was stilling on a curb and had it on my lap, same deal as the car I got up real quick and it flew into the street then I went to pick it up and stepped on it at the same time.. i thought for sure it was a goner, but no.. just a cracked outside LCD where the time is displayed.. and i don't even mean the LCD screen, just the plastic cover that is over the screen.

another time i had my 1 year old niece in my arms so her head was above mine (I was standing up while holding her).. well needless to say, children like cell phones so I gave it to her to play wiwth and she managed to open it up and while we were taking a walk around on the sidewalk, she dropped it from her head height (had to be at least 6 and a half feet in the air onto concrete sidewalk.. that cracked the inside LCD plastic cover LOL

So yea.. my RAZR is beat the F up.. but I have never had to have to replaced and it still works perfectly. I'm proud to have the most beat up RAZR that still works in existance.

On and it also fell into the toilet once (luckily before I was about to take a piss tho)... a blowdryer on it for an hour did the trick.

correction:

ALL motorola phones are so fragile... and steamy piles of crap. decades in the business and they still can't make an interface that just works. my gf's motorola just died after 8 months of careful use. she picked it up one day and the keypad didn't work, the display was garbled, and everytime you opened the screen it tried to speed dial a random number. way to go motorola! my brother's last motorola randomly shut off without warning all the time and dropped calls like crazy. my current motorola (work, ugh) has horrific sound quality, a wobbly screen (even when it was new), a vestigial antenna (what is this, 1980?), and randomly changes the volume whenever i press a number key in the middle of a call. way to go motorola!

meanwhile i've never seen a samsung phone that didn't just do what it was told, forever. my gf used one for 4 years with no problems, and it still held a charge when she made the mistake of "upgrading" to her last motorola.

I have the first gen RAZR and it's lasted two years and many drops including being dropped off a train I had just caught up to. (Sadly I had to let go, get the phone and then run to catch up with the train again.)

I got pissed and hurled mine into a wall (Stupid, know)

Bought a new blue case off of Ebay (rawr!), and a new keypad/LCD Data cable, it's not back in action.

OK, so I just got a new phone today, a normal one, not a razzzzzr. Most of my friends have razzzzzzrs and the things break every 5 months or so. I've never known anyone who has had one last longer than that (i'm sure some ATOT'ers will chime in). They're just so fragile.

My friends will say something like 'my razr is awesome....oh ****** a single photon of light just hit it at an odd angle...my raazzzzzzzzr just exploded sending shards of glass and carbon-fiber into my eyes'.

if your talking about the gsm one i think your friends are idiots. mine has been dropped like ten times, hit by racquetballs (in the court i put in in the corner but sometime ball hit it right on top), stepped one, general mistreatment in college and so far nothing. its charger died though but t mobile replaced it.

edit.
also ppl don't buy them. they get for free with contracts.
also the interface SUCKS. fix damn thing moto. in consider the interface of the free nokia phone i got from tracfone to be better than this junk.

my dad's razr has worked fine for the past 2 years or so (might be longer than that).

He's dropped while running, dropped it while playing baseball, run over it, dropped it getting out of the car, dropped it getting in the car, dropped it while talking on it. Basically, he's dropped it a lot. The battery cover is dented, the keys are kind of dirty and the camera is cracked, but it works like a charm.

Though, I think it died once (after a pretty bad drop) but then was working fine the next day. (resurrection!)
