Razr phones are so fragile...why would ANYONE buy one??

OK, so I just got a new phone today, a normal one, not a razzzzzr. Most of my friends have razzzzzzrs and the things break every 5 months or so. I've never known anyone who has had one last longer than that (i'm sure some ATOT'ers will chime in). They're just so fragile.

My friends will say something like 'my razr is awesome....oh ****** a single photon of light just hit it at an odd angle...my raazzzzzzzzr just exploded sending shards of glass and carbon-fiber into my eyes'.

You're an idiot. My wife and I have both had Razr's for well over a year...I'm closing in on 2 years with no problems whatsoever...and this is with multiple drops from both of us. Actually the phone has recovered from drops significantly better than past phones. Everyone has different experiences...but Razr's are not particularly fragile.

I don't have one but a friend does, and the wire that holds the back on is a little bent. Every time she opens the phone, the back cover pops off and flies across the room. Pretty funny, actually.

Just the first version of razr's were really fragile, the newer ones are made quite sturdy. Moto learned from their mistakes. ^_^

I recently upgraded my phone to a V3xx and it seem to be like a tank.

i believe most of the rezor housing is actually metal, so how can they be more fragile then the avarage phone made of only plastic?

The old sytle black berry's are pretty much tanks. I know some guys who used one as a door stop for a couple of months and it was still working.

The Cingular store where i scoped out my new pearl had some razrs out and they had loose pieces and buttons that wouldn't work.

you must have UV protection, sound dampening material, and kevlar on those things.

I don't make a habit of smiting my enemies with my cellphone.

But thanks for the heads-up.

I've had one for over a year now and it's still working great. Dust has gotten into the screen, but I'll live.

I'd dropped it onto the floor numerous time. It has also taken a swim in a river before too. Still alive and ticking.

Mine fell out of my bike bag on my ride in to work and hit the pavement from about 3' off the ground at 15mph. The battery cover is bent and there are scratches all over it but it still works fine. That happened almost a year ago BTW.

You going to have to accept the fact that your friends are wrong in assuming cell phones are to be used to eat, cook, and build roads. :)

i love my razr. I have talked to people who are on their 5th one but mine I accidentally ran it over with my car and it still works. Yes the case is dented to hell and the camera is cracked, but it still works perfectly fine never gave me a problem yet.

I've dropped my razr a few times and all I have to show for it is a slight chip on the bottom of it. Sounds like your friends are good at breaking electronics.

I hates Razrs I do. They are junk, it's the number one most replaced phone in our network, from what I've seen. Also, what with the crappy way Moto forces you to get into the programming menu? Seriously, most of the idiots on the other end of the line can barely turn their phones on, much less punch in "77643# CLR CLR" in the exact span of time and at the right speed. Die moto, die.

Oh yea, we're finally getting a CDMA Slvr. =/

My old Sprint phone was a Samsung A900, the old style with the metal case. It feel from waist-height one and took a chunk out of the pavement, THAT thing is a tank.

My Razr is a year old and working fine. I have dropped it on tar a couple times getting out of my car. It doesn't feel any more fragile in my hand than say my iPod nano.
