Well guys, I took my 4 year old to Toys-R-Us and he started cruising around the store on a Razor lookalike. He was having a absolute blast on it. I gave it a quick try and can see why there's a lot of interest in these things. They're fun! I figure it'll be a great little toy to bring to grandma's for him, but I have to admit that I'm looking forward to playing with it too. BTW, they're hugely popular on college campuses.

If you are an adult and want this, get the
Xootr instead. It is much larger and
looks much better to boot. I have a Xootr,
Street version, and all Razor riders jock me

The Razor model is kinda played out as well.

By the way, a bunch of techies in NYC and San Fran
ride these to work. The people that think they are
"stupid" are slow...and I don;t just mean speed wise

Basically they said the Razor was hip, but people

My cousin had one of these Razors... the funniest thing I ever rode... didn't impress me at all.. especially when it vibrates at high speeds or on rocky roads. For the money might as well get some skates...

I've HAVE seen the techies in NYC and SanFran and DC riding these. That's when I decdied they all look really ridiculous. It'll be in your closet in 6 months when the fad passes. Unless you know an 8 year old who might have fun with one.....

IMO xootr's are pretty nice but prices ranging from 289$ all the way up too 489$ id rather go for a razor..... heh but if moneys not a problem i dont see why not.

Razors are convenient for college campuses. A lotta people use them to get to class. Much quicker than walking. I don't think anybody in college rides it for 'fun,' but it's a cheap convenient way of getting to your 8:00 am class on time.

CarpeDeo, are you sure riding one of these Razors cut down significant amount of walking time? I would rather be embarrassed by having everyone look at me while I walk into the class rather than having everyone look at me while I, a grown up adult, ride a scooter from class to class. It's not very appealing, that's all I can say.

I don't really see much difference riding a bike from riding a scooter. I never hear people talking about adults looking silly on a bike. They're both double wheels and moves. One is just where u stand and one is where you sit. I've seen people riding scooters and I see nothing embarrassing about it.
