Computer crime is ranked up at murder and the like..it's sort of stupid, but at the same time with the degree of damage and monetary gain that is possible it sort of makes sense. In the 1990's (perhaps still) due to the flight and disappearing 'risk' you were arrested usually via swat type team at daybreak.

Did you all miss this line, too:
Judge Armstrong also ordered Mr. Breen to pay restitution of $690,236.91 to Cisco Systems. He will begin serving his sentence on March 26.
?

Who wants to offer Anandtech's first reading comprehension class?

Hah!

including such games as "Quake," "Red Alert," "Terminal Velocity," "Warcraft II" and "Warcraft III."

Better watch out for those guys stealing terminal velocity.

It really amazes me how these guys continue to operate though, it seems like they would be able to buy off some group members pretty easily to give up the rest. Or maybe those groups are almost cult-like.

I really like how they always slap on charges of 'mail fraud' in these sorts of cases.

No it doesn't make sense at all, physical harm is not the same as monetary and you can't punsish them as though they were alike.

Does the sentence fit the crime in this case? If he stole 100k+ worth of cisco hardware he's going to have to repay them 600k. Is that much jailtime really that necessary with the looming financial burden too? He's not violent, why should I pay for him to be prision when he could be out working paying back cisco?

Razor 1911 is old school! I think they're the only group still in the scene from the 80s as FairLight called it quits several months ago.
He should have moved to Russia while he had the chance. 😛

EDIT: Oops I mean the early 90s.

Yea, haven't heard about Razor1911 for a long time.

And you won't......for at least 50 months

What are you talking about? Their last release is railroad pioneer from 2/7/2004 from publically available information on the net.

I remember INC was big back then. What ever happened to them?

I always liked the midi's that Razor1911 used to put on their keygen programs. They were cooler than the game itself half of the time. One for the homies...
