It always seem like the new guys want to start the heated threads.
(Except for the P & N lovers.)

This issue has been discussed already.

But since I dont believe in making a post without useful info:

I have a Viper and am very happy with it. It feels smoother that all my friends' advanced Logitech and Microsoft mice. It was the ONLY input device that was good enough to make me go back to a cord. Recharging batteries was not a hassle for me. I have NOT tried the MX-1000 yet, so I wont bash it.
I recently set up a new machine and will use the the Viper for the old, non-gaming computer. I think I'll buy an MX-1000 for the gaming system. If I dont like it I'll return it and order a Razer Diamondback.

i used to have a viper, and while it was good, it was very flawed... if you lifted it off the pad, slightly, when attempting 180degree moves for example, it would lag or cause your crosshair to jump to the sky.. I eventually got used to this, however I recently upgraded it to a razer diamondback, and it is perfect. the only mouse i would recommend upgrading to!!!

mx1000 is quite decent mouse. I am using one right now and I am extremely happy with it. I have tried my friend's mx510. Its pretty good but I prefer mx1000. There are lot of good reviews for razer diamondback and I am looking forward to try it out soon :)
