Has anybody used the Razer Lycosa keyboard? I'm debating between this and the new orange G15 [sexiness in a can]

I probably won't use the LCD much [if at all] on the G15, and its price is somewhat high [although the Lycosa is only $10 cheaper]

I'm looking for a keyboard with good responsiveness, tactile keys [laptop keys = the suck], and is comfortable to use.

So, which do you recommend?
 
Definitly not either of those keyboards. I'd say go to a local PC shop and test some of the ones they have for sale.

Considering you weren't smart enough to post that in the first place, I'm not exactly inclined to value your opinion on the matter.

Well, fwiw, my gf & I have two "older" G15's (blue ones) and we love them. The only downside I have w/ them is that the older of the two is 2 years old and the letters are wearing off and more of the light is bleeding thru.

Other than that, I have nothing but good things to say about them. HTH.
 
I would recommend the Logitech over the Razer, even though I know nothing about either of the two keyboards.

Why? Well, first off, you forum icon is the Linux penguin. Razer is currently in bed with Microsoft, they are working together to create products with Razer technology with the Microsoft name on it.

I have been using Linux recently, and I have a Razer mouse. I have had a tough time getting my Razer Diamondback gaming mouse to work properly under Linux, for a lack of driver support. The proprietary Razer drivers for Windows work much better than the generic mouse drivers in Linux.

After looking at the Ubuntu software package repository, it is not hard to find programs that give Logitech mice full functionality, whilst there is not a damn thing in that repository that help me get my Razer mouse working as good as it does it Windows.

I know your asking about a keyboard and not a mouse, and I do love my Razer Diamondback mouse. But as far as general hardware support, if you ever do use Linux and need some type of special driver or software to get extra functionality out of your keyboard, you'd be much more likely to find it with a Logitech product than a Razer product.

How do you figure that moving all your fingers in the same diagonal slant is a good thing? Don't you think there is a reason the Nostromo pad has its keys aligned in a symmetrical grid? I know gaming keyboard have some whiz bang features, but I think it's foolish to spend that much money and not be getting something the Darwin
 
@ShadowZERO: under Linux, I only need my keyboard to type... It's Windows where the gaming-ness matters 🙂

So far, I have one recommendation for the G15 and an argument... WOO!

In my first post, I said i was getting the new G15 with 6 keys and 18 macros... Also, it's 54, not 45 😛

My current keyboard doesn't have macros [$5 no-name ftw], and so I've never had the luxury of using one, but if they're really that helpful I'll try them out.

I use a older (blue) G15. I love it. It even has Windows 64 bit drivers for vista. Never had a full featured keyboard work so well. Love it love it love it.
