if the vista drivers don't work, set up the mouse the way you want on an XP/Vista computer and then just plug and play into Windows 7 and it should work the way you had it set up
 
Suposivly Windows 7 was designed to stay compatible with all Vista drivers. There may be some issues till the final release. So try the vista drivers and see what happens.
