Still dreaming of a day when i can have ONE device that is my tablet/laptop/gaming machine, that runs x86 windows, and is pretty powerful.

This looks pretty cool, but not sure if its in a state where id buy it yet. I think integrated graphics need to be good enough where they can do the job - to help with battery life, and the slimness of the device - because judging by the pictures, it doesnt look very thin.

the keyboard attachment also looks kinda cheap and flimsy.

Besides that though, its a concept, and a device that I hope we see more of. I love my macbook air, but if windows 8 tablets were at a point where they could do all of this in a sleek package id be ready to switch back over.

Not a bad performance to price ratio. I'm actually surprised.

Then again, I'm not really sure what the GTX 640M can accomplish.

Next year we'll see a lot more of these I think, with better specs and performance, so I'll wait out the first gen.

we're a decade away from having a tablet that can play today's PC games maxed out. What we'll see soon, hopefully with surface pro 2 (haswell) is a tablet that can handle the CPU side with a thunderbolt port to connect an external GPU to. At that point, provided it has a high capacity SSD in it, its the single do-everything computer.

I think this thing looks terrible. A two pound 10 inch tablet is just too big to be using as a gaming device. I think 7 inches is more ideal for tablet gaming. And then you strap on the $250 game controller with another battery, can't imagine how heavy that thing is together. And lastly you have to sacrifice screen resolution for FPS performance. $1,000 for a 1366x768 display, ugh.

It tries to be too many things and ends up not being good at anything.

And what's the deal with releasing the keyboard 6 months or more later? It'll practically be obsolete by then.

An actual laptop isn't all that powerful for gaming. I think you'll be waiting a while for that all in one machine.

I think the 640M is more than capable performance wise - but is probably a huge battery killer, and makes that thing way thicker than it should be. If your gonna make a tablet, then the thickest it should be is maybe as thick as an ultra book. Anything bigger is just silly.

Hopefully next gen haswell devices like this will be powerful enough to not have to have a dedicated GPU. This is like the netbook coming out - before ultra books were released.

A decade? I sure hope not. I think within 2 years youll be able to play any game on med-high settings on integrated graphics. Maxed out should come within 5 years.

In its current state, its appealing no almost no one, but its a concept that eventually will be awesome. 7 inches is way too small to use as an all in one mcgyvertablet. The controller is probably a bad a idea. Personally id like to just Prop it up with a kickstand, and then pair a controller with it and play games from there. Screen res kinda sucks, but for gaming id be fine with that for now - if this thing werent so bulky.

If thats true about the keyboard thats pretty lame. How can you release a device that truly has the potential to be an all in one, and leave out the most crucial part for probably the only type of people who would buy this? (maybe college kids who want a gaming laptop, and something portable, and a tablet?)

Unfortunately I just don't think you can really combine gaming handheld, all around tablet, and laptop into one package. Sacrifices have to be made for each aspect it's trying to appeal to and ends up letting you down at everything.

And since the purpose is gaming, you'll need a controller and/or keyboard, so portability is taking a hit there. I love tablets. But in this case I think $1,000 would be far better spent on a gaming laptop, you can get superior hardware, it has a keyboard, battery life might even be better.

I was thinking a decade for GTX690 (or whatever the top card of the moment is) in a handheld device. The big GPUs just use too much power. 5 years is optimistic, 10 probably pessimistic.

I applaud companies for at least trying different things. These fully refined and powerful converged all in one devices of our dreams aren't just going to magically appear one day, it takes a few generations to get things right.
