Razer Copperhead 2000dpi Laser Mouse - $39.99 @ Best Buy

Prices effective Sunday, Jan. 14th - Saturday, Jan. 20th.

If you're like me and still have the MX500 or similar, now seems like a good time to upgrade. Are you the gamer that prefers "hand-based" control (G5) or "finger-based" control (Copperhead)? Decisions decisions...

The Copperhead is instock online as of 1/14, but sadly the G5 is not.
Razer Copperhead @ Best Buy Online

Looking for a new slick mouse pad to go along with the new mouse?
The XTracPads Pro HS is a steal @ $10.95 +$5.50 shipping
If you need 2.5"x6" more of mousing real estate, the Hammer is $7 more.

Since this is my first post, no I don't work for XTracPads. I've been in the market for some mousing upgrades, and the pads above look like great deals for the price.

Welcome to AT. With the copperhead, keep in mind that Razer is releasing a new mouse, the DeathAdder right now. I'd wait for some reviews to see if it is better than the Copperhead (and preliminary reviews indicate this). The mouse has an MSRP of 59.99 and is already available at TigerDirect for 49.99. It's cheaper because it uses a 3G infrared sensor instead of a laser like the copperhead.

Edit: also, for mouse pads, take a look at the fUnc series at http://www.func.net/. I've had the original sUrface 1030 for years now, and I decided to get the Archetype MBA. I'm eagerly awaiting it!

got my g5 for 20 bucks at the bestbuy down here in denver, definatley good deal

edit: those plastic pads look nice, however i preffer the cloth

don't know if it is a good deal or not but bought one anyway (Copperhead).

been out of the market for awhile. trying to buy parts for another system (which I really don't need)

Funny how BB's web site shows a Diamondback when you search for the Copperhead, this is a great deal. The Deathadder is coming out and may or may not be better, but for 40 bucks this is a steal. I actually like the look/shape of this one. The new one is basically a MS lookalike, which isn't a bad thing if you like the shape of the MS mice.

I'm heading to my BB right now to see what colors they have in stock.

edit: never mind. "mark down from regular prices"

In the past, I had used the coupon on items that were on sale???

If the deal is available in-store, one can use the BB 10%/12% coupon

good till 1/15/2007

Don't know if it will work. I ordered on-line before finiding this..

it's a great mouse, it's cheaper then any place on-line. I'd say you got a good deal.

I have a Diamonback Plasma and am really tempted to go pick one of these up. the 12% coupon somebody posted would make it just under 40 bucks OTD. Good deal!

Mice aren't video cards or processors, they won't get significantly better with each release. The DeathAdder should be better, but it won't blow this out the water.

the only thing that gets better on the mice, is more ergonomic design and optical sensors, more butttons maybe. but for the most part he is right they dont get UBER good, like cpus or video cards

the mouse is great.....it's really a gamer mouse....i picked one up on a recent woot for $39 shipped but it's worth it still..........much better than my MS laser mouse 6000

ehh, warm i'd say, I've seen the g7 mouse @ $40 in the past months.

G7 = wireless, a completely different class from the wired G5 and Copperhead.

which is partly my point, that was a hot deal.

Does anyone know if this mouse is available B&M?

The BB up the street from me carries them, but they are not on the mouse/keyboard isle. They are off a bit next to the gaming pc stuff. BB's web site can do store lookups to let you know if it's in store or not.

just got back from BB, they probably 10 of these in stock, they were all the Tempest Blue, I want the green one, maybe CC will price match and I can get the green one.

not if you want a real gaming mouse

as opposed to a fake one?

The g7 has next to no lag, I have experienced it first hand. You speculate opinion as if it was fact. True the g5 is a good gaming mouse. True it has no lag, however this is the HOT DEALS forum. A g7 for $40 AR is great for one of the best gaming mice wired or wireless.

We can take this argument outside if you like (to perephirals) 😀

The G7 makes for a great casual gaming mouse, but to many users wireless is a drawback - not an asset. You can't shoot down this hot deal just because YOU favor wireless above other features that define a gaming mouse.

Please quote me where I profess my preference to wireless mice.

The G7 for $40 is hotter than the G5 for $40. 'Nuff said.

g7 isn't a good gaming mouse, but it has nothing to do with being wireless, it's just too damn heavy. for $20 bucks I wouldn't buy one.

A. it's in your original post
B. I would pay $40 for a G5 before I pay $40 for a G7, that's how much I value wired over wireless. It is your opinion that wireless is the major asset and thus you base your claim that this deal is warm because of that, when this deal might be warm only for you, not everyone.
C. this thread is about the Copperhead for $40, not the G5 or the G7.

Just got the copperhead... seems like a great mouse. I haven't had great luck with Logitech (sticking buttons on my Mx514 and Harmony remote) so decided to go with something else this time around.

Thanks OP!
