Since we are apparently only talking about a hybrid of rasterization and ray tracing, with only a small amount of ray tracing actually going on, perhaps frame rates will be faster than expected when everything gets going properly?
It's possible I guess. If it was easy to get the RT eye candy while providing respectable frame rates I'd imagine they would have dropped the games updates at launch. The longer it takes the harder it looks to implement a careful balance as far as I see at least.
