How can anyone stand this guy?

He's basically a whiny internet sjw with a TV show. I cringe whenever I am forced to watch him. The only thing funny about him is that there is an audience stupid enough to need this guy to explain the news to them in such a manner.

Actually, most of our fellow country men and women are too stupid to know that what is peddled by the regular news media is plain BS. It is only someone like Jon who exposes it. Not just our domestic hypocrisy, but our international ones as well.

If he's not banned for life to then something is seriously wrong. Abusing a kid is way worse than punching a woman who spit on you and took a swing at you.

STFU with guranteed contract shit, everytime time it is brought up it's the same incorrect generalization crap and looks stupid.

Yawn. How many NFL players have guaranteed contracts? I believe Adam Vinitieri(sp?) had one but can't think of anyone else.

NBA of MLB, name us players without a guaranteed contract.

Eh... I don't think it's as bad as the Ray Rice situation if he was doing it as a punishment instead out of malice

Yeah, cuts on his legs, welts on his back and legs. He's fucking 4 years old, that's it. All for pushing one of his other bastard kids?

I'd hate to see what he does if they get into an actual fight, you know, like kids do time to time.

Malice? Yeah, beating the shit out of a kid and accidentally hitting a nut, isn't malice, it is plain parental negligence and abuse. That's far worse.

A 4 year old.

I think many people see the Adrian Peterson situation as WORSE than that of Ray Rice. Peterson has admitted what he did, admits to a personal history of beating his children, and has given statements to the police that he sees nothing wrong in what he did.

He's played his last game as a Minnesota Viking. Maybe his last game in the NFL.

The other major difference is that Ray Rice was most likely completely fucking lit when he punched his fiance.

AP seems to have been pretty in control of his actions when he beat a 4 year old kid.

Can there be a more stupid argument? What is worse between decking your fiance unconscious or beating up your 4 year old with a switch? Is this something to argue about? These are sick people

I'm not totally against physical punishment but from the description he went WAY over the top with it, this wasn't a spanking, it was a beating. Get over it AP, 4yr old's misbehave sometimes because....their 4yr old's, the solution is not to mete out that type of a beating.

Pretty much right on time, the Ray Rice incident is being exploited for political gains -- to get more women in "leadership roles".

I've long been personally disgusted by those willing to exploit a terrible situation to score political points. This, I think, is happening:

If the NFL wants to help itself in this area more, women should be put in positions of power where they could not only provide a useful check on players, but on the predominately male management that has for too long made excuses for outrageous and even criminal behavior.

Yes, an op-ed from a single conservative male pundit represents the widespread exploitation of domestic abuse to get more women involved in leadership roles. That's an argument that makes perfect sense.

I'll admit to jumping the gun on that, but Condi Rice would love to be a Commish someday.

Let's see: A fight between two drunk adults or beating a 4 year old with a tree branch. A 4 year old. 4.

If you're having a problem seeing which is worse then you equate women with children. Feminists, being the quantum creatures that they are, will laud you and spit on you.

I didn't realize it was a contest for the most despicable person of the year award where only the winner gets punished. Both things are bad and both acts deserve punishment.

The NFL should either police their members according to some well-definied policy, instead of letting some get a pass while others get very public and extended punishments for similar offenses. Or perhaps they should simply throw up their hands and say "What the players do outside of football is their business and we only care that they make us lots of money on the field." At least with the latter, they'd be honest.

You, like many others here, are getting overly emotional. Rice, in a drunken stupor, knocked his wife out cold. Peterson tried to discipline his child and went overboard. These two are candidates for "the most despicable persons of the year."? What about this guy?

I thought I'd read he had all ready had a 2 year old child of his killed in some weird situation involving a friend of his or something, hadn't delved into it.

Something's not right there.

I'll admit to jumping the gun on that, but Condi Rice would love to be a Commish someday.

I'd seen that also.

I'd rather see her in that role than the previous one she had. Would be interesting.

Yep, it's a race thing. We're all bloody racists here. You got us all figured out. /s

Or perhaps we're only bringing up these two because they are both NFL players and we're discussing how the NFL is handling the situation of having shitty people playing football for them. But way to minimize the Ray Rice situation - he was drunk and just knocked out his wife. I think it's a pretty serious problem if you're drinking and think the acceptable way to deal with your significant other is to cold cock him or her.

Nah uh. Don't try to group yourself with others here. YOU are the racist if you feel that one of these two football players are "the most despicable person of the year." Hopefully, you over-reacted. Me thinks that killing 5 (or even 1) of your own children is worse than hurting someone.

I don't think they're the most despicable. I simply pointed out that it isn't a contest for "who did the worst thing". They're both doing bad things, and there are people, that are not football players, doing worse things (and shock: there may be some football players who are doing worse things). I don't feel like ranking people on a scale of Mother Teresa to Adolf Hitler.

Was cutting him an appropriate punishment? I don't care to weigh in on that. But a 2 game suspension seemed pretty light, especially when minor drug offenses are punished more severely. And then there is the total ridiculousness of the situation: only do more when the full video came to light. What the hell did they think happened?

It's not a fucking tree branch. Don't try to make it worse than it is to further your agenda.

Fact is, kids have been disciplined like this for generations. Get over it.
