I wonder if the Jerry Jones sexual assault thing has any merit if Roger will make Jones sell his team kinda like the NBA did with the racist Sterling? Probably not, its much better to assault someone sexually than to be a racist.

It appears that she spit and slapped Ray, both of which are assault. At least in my state. Obviously what he did was assault too. But all the people who want justice to be served, it goes both ways. A new law in my state states, that if there are visible wounds or proof of the assault the Officer SHALL arrest the guilty party. It used to be Officer discretion, not anymore. I don't want her arrested, he wouldn't press charges. But the law is the law.

but this is the real issue. ^

our resident toaster-fucker just can't help himself in turning every issue into his "abused straight white male" complex. It's obnoxious

...did this topic get pushed to P&N?

yeah, in his twisted little mind, Ray Rice and Greg Hardy are the battered victims of roid-raged women.

It's best not expect things to be seen or accounted for fairly. She could have followed up the slap spit with a kick to the nutz and a roundhouse to the face. She's totally out of line up to and until the point he strikes back and knocks her out, then he's done-game over.

Report: No shit.

Every reporter with a source in the league office has been saying the same thing since the story broke. The NFL had the tape and every word out of Roger the Dodger's mouth has been a lie.

Yea, it was pretty much common sense that if TMZ could get ahold of a copy why couldn't the NFL?. What this person is coming forward with is a recorded response from someone at the league office responding with "oh, that's really bad" or something to that effect, gonna be tough on Goodell to still try and perpetuate the ongoing lie's he's been spewing.

Looks like I've been proven wrong, sir.

Wow, if Roger lied, then he need to be fired/quit. And if he's not, then that's equally as bad as it shows lack of control. There really is no excuse for a tape to be in the hands of an "NFL Executive" for 5 months and he not know about it.

Yea, it's check mate.

Will be slightly interesting to see if his story keeps the same or changes. I'd guess a fall guy will be needed either way, someone to be used as placeholder and as an endpoint for where that video went and why. I suppose that person could remain nameless for awhile to keep options open of who it should be and who makes the most sense to catch as much fallout as possible. This would be in addition to Goodell's departure.

To keep options open it would be helpful if emails started getting "lost" pretty quick if they haven't already been "lost". The emails that explain what happened with the tape and who knew what and when and who had seen it are probably pretty clear. That's going to a problem for effectively managing the lie.

She has basically said she egged him on.

The truth is we will see now if she married him to cover this up or divorces him since she was looking to be financially compensated.

Yet that's the exact excuse that the NFL is going to use now. They're going to circle the wagons, come up with a fall guy and when they can't find a way to deny that they had the tape they're going to claim that one person had it, watched it, never showed it to anyone else and lost it. That person will get fired and likely will receive a large golden parachute on his way out the door.

Hey man while reading this post, I had a mental image of Rafael Palmerio pointing his finger at his accusers while vehemently denying his use of 'roids, only with Goodell's face on his body.

What makes it so dumb, though, is that he could have suspended Rice indefinitely without having the public see the tape. If he did see the tape, and suspended him indefinitely, then there wouldn't hardly be any outrage had the tape come public -- people would have applauded his penalty because it would have had proper justification.

That's why initially I though it was idiotic to think he saw the tape, and still only gave Rice two games.

Not idiotic in the commercial universe. A star player makes a lot of money for many people and organizations. And that is what nfl is all about.

Yawn. You sound like a broken record. That's why we have players that have been suspended for more games. One player suspended the whole season due to marijuana. Well, there goes your argument out the window.

Sleazeball NFL guys' lies exposed. A law enforcement official confirms NFL received the video and they even got a voicemail from NFL acknowledging the receipt of it.

Earlier Wednesday, a law enforcement official told the Associated Press he sent the video to an NFL executive in early April. The AP reported the official played a 12-second voicemail from April 9 from an NFL office number in which a female voice confirmed the arrival of the video, expressed thanks and said, “You’re right. It’s terrible.”

Prediction. Some low level executive will be the fall guy for not handing him the tape. That way he is not called out as a liar.

Yes. And this "independent investigation" is the standard universal method of letting the steam off for now and cover up. Used in just about every part of the world. NFL gets an F grade for originality

NFL has pretty much the best excuse ever: "Uh, that tape got lost in the mail."

Also, the NFLPA has stated they've yet to receive a letter formally suspending Ray Rice. Looks like that was for show as well.

This is getting fun now. I knew it was far from over.

You have to wonder if that tape would have ever leaked and any of this would have ever happened if they had got the call right the first time and gave him a year long suspension instead of a limp 2 week one.

But now the NFL has quite the PR crisis and it's internal affairs and how it handles player problems is going to be under a massive microscope.

I wonder what all this "domestic violence" publicity does for the players union case for performance enhancing drugs. Right now the league is working on revising the drug policy and *raising* the amounts you can have in your system. Players that were previously suspended (Welker, Gordon) could have their suspensions lifted.

How do they address that. If they pass it now it looks like they are softer on drugs too. Which could really throw the whole thing into a tizzy.

And then you have Oscar Pistorius (Blade runner Olympian) down in South Africa more than likely getting off from his murder charges for blasting his super model girlfriend who was cowering in a bathroom this week too.

All of this stuff bubbling up to a frothy head at once. At some point we really need to take a step back as a society and wonder where we went wrong and how we allowed so many people in these types of positions get so many free passes. None of us posting here would be granted a fraction of the immunity that these guys get.

I don't have cable TV anymore but I can't help but think this is being talked about every waking minute there.

So I am supposed to be outraged and grab a torch and pitchfork because the NFL didn't act quickly enough over what for them is nothing more than PR yet not be outraged the the justice system responsible for actually enforcing the law and providing justice in this case essentially did nothing? smfh

She's already financially compensated. Ray has already made some $25M and will, more than likely, play in the NFL again. From the tape you can see Ray's reaction after he cold cocks her. Nothing at all...very non-chalant about it as if he's seen this before. He's cold and uncaring as he drags her out of the elevator and leaves her on the floor with her skirt halfway up her ass. My gut tells me this isn't the first time he's struck her. That leaves me to believe she was a battered woman first and a rich woman second. She isn't going anywhere. He's spent years cultivating the thought processes in her mind where she equates him to her well-being and livelihood.

Everyone with more than an 8th grade comprehension level knows she married him to cover this up.
