No, that someone said "for countless women out there, this is their day to day reality".

They should have said "for countless people out there, this is their day to day reality."

Because that is the actual reality of the situation.

I did not know it was the same prosecution.

They're both black, so they cant claim racism.
Turns out its money, its always been the money

Well, as it turns out, they didn't commit the same crimes. There might not be a deferment program for first time gun offenses. Also, I think a lot of what I've read was that Rice did meet all the qualifications for the first time offender of domestic violence, but the DA could have went to the judge and said "we don't recommend that, and here is why". That didn't happen though.

buddy and i were talking about this at lunch...

we both came to the conclusion that it is pretty obvious that this is not the first time ray rice has beat his girlfriend (yeah this is probably obvious to many people already, but we were just talking about it).

anyone who had never done something like this before (or at least any sane person) would have reacted way differently as soon as they saw she was knocked out. and then the way he treats his wife by just dragging her out of the elevator and tossing her on the ground, with her skirt like 1/2 way up her ass. just very disrespectful, especially for the person who is supposed to be your best friend in life who you cherish with all your will.

but stay classy baltimore, how you all cheered him and gave him his standing ovation multiple times and applauded him when showing him on the big screen in preseason.

^He isn't the first Baltimore player to be indicted for a serious crime and then cheered. They have a statue of one at their stadium.

Normally I understand the notion that "anything he says is wrong so just disagree with him", but there's nothing particularly insane about that post. He's right.

sure
Seriously, Nahalem -- you need to stop deraiing this thread and turning this into some kind of men-hating witchhunt.

Seriously, you really need to stop.

but this is the real issue. ^

our resident toaster-fucker just can't help himself in turning every issue into his "abused straight white male" complex. It's obnoxious

...did this topic get pushed to P&N?

ray seems to be the classiest of all names for baltimore!

You know, Ray McDonald of the 49ers is also under investigation for domestic abuse... Perhaps, it would be in the best interest of the league to stop drafting people with the name Ray.

.

Yes, that part was just as bad. You can call such people animals but that is so unfair because animals are not like that. Perhaps there is no appropriate word in the vocabulary for such creatures. Who are worshipped in our society and the media

She probably deserved that rap in the chops. Imagine being stuck in an elevator with her shrieking, snaky necking volume turned up to 11.

As I already suspected, your tenure here will be short-lived

Report: Ray Rice Video Was Sent To NFL Executive back in April:

http://deadspin.com/report-nfl-had-copy-of-ray-rice-tape-1633159819

It doesn't make sense that they hadn't seen the tape. The NFL has been lying and covering up what they knew and when they knew it. Standard these days, glad they will get flushed out. These days when shit gets bad, or when you need to, lie.

Goodell is done. He will, or his lawyers rather, will of course try and push a construct where plausible deniability can be the case. But it's not plausible at all that this tapes contents were not seen.

The league has been adamant that it hadn't seen the full tape. When it was released by TMZ on Monday, the league specifically said to TMZ through a spokesman: "We requested from law enforcement any and all information about the incident, including the video from inside the elevator. That video was not made available to us and no one in our office has seen it until today." That's very specific, as completely opposite of the AP report.

...

Despite the NFL saying all week it had not seen the full video of Ray Rice punching and knocking out his then-fiancee last February, a source told the Associated Press that law enforcement had in fact sent the tape to someone at the league office in April.

In the AP story, it says a source played a voicemail from April 9 that came from a phone number at the NFL offices, in which a female voice says the tape was received, expresses thanks and says: "You're right. It's terrible." The source could not tell AP for certain if anyone at the NFL offices had watched the video, and he had no further contact with any other NFL employees. The AP report said the source was unauthorized to release the video but "shared it unsolicited, because they wanted the NFL to have it before deciding on Rice's punishment."
