Has anyone tried just... "eating" coffee instead of drinking it?

It tastes really bitter (I've had coffee grounds in my coffee before.)

No but I remember an episode of Mr Bean where he downed some coffee grinds, then poured milk and sugar into his mouth and "gargled" them together.... Genius!

I gulped down a tablespoon of Nescafe instant coffee once. Lets just say I wouldn't do it again.
