But befitting a creature that has evaded annihilation for centuries, officials found no obvious solutions: poison packets and traps have proved no match for an agile mammal known to be diabolically clever.

“They jump two feet from a running start; they can fall 40 feet onto a concrete slab and keep running,” said Solomon Peeples, 86, a former director of the city’s Bureau of Pest Control Services. “We’re no match for them, as far as I’m concerned. Man does not stand a chance.”

I, for one, welcome our new rodent overlords.

Curses!

Anyway, the key to killing them is to have them line up in a row and then get a robot armed with lasers to shoot them in one shot.

We should enlist some mad scientists to make this happen.

All cities have this problem....

Boston has improved, though. 7 years ago, you would just walk off the Arlington T stop only to see a rat just staring at you from the steps. These rats were f'n huge too.

That's why we need more feral cats.

I can see a problem with this.

Problem: Rat infestation
Solution: Introduce more feral cats to kill the rats
Problem: Rats are killed off, but now we have too many feral cats
Solution: More stray dogs required to kill off the feral cats
Problem: Too many stray dogs, but the feral cat and rat populations have been reduced.
Solution: Introduce bears to the kill the dogs
Problem: Dog, cat and rat populations controlled, but now too many bears

And so on...

Do you really want the cities of the world overrun by dog-munching bears!!! 😀

As long as I do not pay more Homer Tax

Spiked bait with birth control like they do for deer.

Of course, then they will have a bunch of liberated women rats taking all of the men rats' jobs.

No mad scientists, esoteric or avant-garde solutions required at all! A Synrad sealed 120W CO2 (10.6µM) laser will take care of serious rodent issues quickly and can be fun! 😱
