Rating Colleges

I am looking for a site that rates all colleges in the country. I know that the local library must have something, but I wanted to check with you guys first.

I want to compare Dowling College to Florida Atlantic University.

usnews is a very popular choice when it comes to rating colleges. don't go by ratings alone, though. visit the college you choose. i know people that have gone to colleges based on ratings alone and hated their choice. you gotta live with it for four years. make sure you know what you're getting into.

i don't think you can really judge a college (specifically 2 specific colleges) just by the points that USNews rates. The difference separating Yale and Stanford, UCLA and UNC, UCSB and UCI are so miniscule that what you want to look for is the student life, area, and professors.

US news and world report is the most popular. Personally the best way to rate them is by the recuiters that come to campus and average starting salary in the major you want from a particular school. For example the average Wharton MBA grad is around 130K while UNLV MBA your lucky if you get a job at AVIS renting cars.

save yourself the trouble and go to UC Berkeley, it's the best school ever

Well, I'm in Dowling College now and I was thinking of Florida Atlantic University. I can transfer my credits there. It's just a thought.

some parts of boca are not that expensive, but yes, boca in general is expensive. i just want to finish up my MBA there and move on. i just wanted to see how FAU ranked comapred to other business schools.

Well compared to other schools in Florida, its very near the top tier (UF, FSU, UM, UCF, USF). I would place it 5-6 if i had to rank them... Keep in mind, Florida has hundreds of universities/colleges, so thats quite good IMO.

Don't forget Stetson, Rollins and UTampa... none of the public schools can touch those. Well, they could be that good if they charged 30k a year.
