Whatever you say bow. Your diversions and partisan bleatings in the thread have been called for what they are - desperation. Sorry you can't handle the truth.

That's rich coming from the person trying to divert this thread. Your desperation is duly noted by your posts in this thread that are themselves content free and OT. Go display your desperation and ignorance elsewhere - this thread is about RAthERGATE.

Now if you want to talk about the issue at hand then we can discuss it, but your continued desperate bleatings will continued to be called out. Sorry you can't handle the truth.

ROFL. I am talking about "Rathergate". I'm talking about what a phony issue it is. I'm talking about how the Bushies are using it to divert attention from the failures of their boy God in the White House. That is the truth, and you keep dodging it.

LOL Sure Bow. Take your anti-Bush BS elsewhere. You can't make this RAthERGATE thread into a diversion - just because you don't like the fact that it's being discussed. It's not a "diversion" from Bush - it's big news incase you haven't been paying attention the last two weeks.

Go ahead and continue on with your desperate attempts at bush-bashing - I'm sure this show of desperation is nothing compared to what you leftists have in store for us in the coming weeks.

The "truth" here is that you keep trying to divert the thread and turn it into another Bush-bash. Not going to happen. This thread is about blather and his destroyed "journalistic integrity".
Sorry you refuse to accept the truth.

Funny that you don't jump down the throats of the people trying to turn this into a conspiracy by the Kerry campaign. Isn't that OT as well? I guess you Kerry-haters don't want to share your great "victory" over Rather with us Bush-haters.

I think the Bush AWOL theory as every bit as revelant to this disscusion as the Kerry campaigne conspiracy theory is, if not more so because it goes to the heart of the story, which the stupid "tin-hat" conspiracy theories do not.

Burkette has said he was misquoted:

"The Fort Worth Star-Telegram says it incorrectly cited Bush critic Bill Burkett saying he had discussed the descredited CBS documents with Kerry campaign adviser Joe Lockhart.

In a correction, the paper reported Burkett was referring to CBS, not Lockhart, when he said, "They tried to convince me as to why I should give them the documents."

Now it's time to jump on that news source's mistake and demand a resgination from somebody there. LMAO

Silly boy. I'm not bashing Bush. I'm bashing this overblown story and the bleating Bush supporters who mindlessly swallow whatever drivel comes out of the White House. It's pathetic how you try to inflate this story while dismissing all the scandals surrounding your boy in the White House, scandals that undermine the safety of the United States, the financial well-being of ordinary Americans, civil liberties, etc. Your "big news" is a diversion, and that is the plain and simple truth ... no matter how desperately you try to claim otherwise.

Edit: On second thought Cad, I see where you're coming from now. I keep forgetting that your vision of "discussion" means bobbing your heads up and down in unison while you chant the latest Bush talking points. There is no room for diverse points of view in Bushworld. Where never is heard a discouraging word, and the skies are not cloudy all day.

Sorry to inject a little reality into your bleat-a-thon. Pass the Kool-Aid.

It has been pointed out to me that you seem to be in the 2nd stage of grief over kerry. The first being DENIAL. You still seem to be grasping onto the first but it's clear you're into the 2nd which is ANGER. The transition to ANGER brings desperation. The desperation to hold onto denial while at the same time lashing out with anti-Bush tirades. This false "reality" you've chosen to surround yourself in will fade as the ANGER takes hold.

Anyway, if you have something to discuss about RAthERGATE - please discuss it, but please do try to control yourself enough to not divert this into another one of your Bush-bashes.

Mary, Mary, Quite Pro-Kerry

From USA Today earlier this week:

?From the start, it was made clear to Bill Burkett that we do not compensate subjects of interviews,? CBS said in a brief statement. The network declined to elaborate.

But the network has since confirmed that at Burkett's request, Mapes arranged to have Kerry aide Joe Lockhart phone Burkett a few days before the program. Betsy West, a CBS News senior vice president, said the arrangement was ?not part of any deal.? Lockhart said that his phone conversation with Burkett was brief and perfunctory and that the documents were not discussed.

?Finally, and most importantly, NO ONE DIED as a result of Rathers' actions.? -- Harvey

I beg to differ, Harvey.

It is because of Liberal champions like Rather that the hands of our President are tied with respect to using the weapons at his disposal.

You whining, yellow ribbon tying, blat a$$es, have demanded the ?more sensitive? type of war. It has cost the lives of over a thousand soldiers. I lay this responsibility at your feet and your mouthpiece, Rather.

A nuclear device or two would have done the job without a single death to an American soldier.

You liberals are the best friend a terrorist ever had.

Shame?shame-shame on you!!

"blat a$$es"?

So ya figure President Bush would have used nuclear weapons against Iraq but for Dan Rather, eh? You must not think much of the advice of his Cabinet, huh?

The difficult resposnsibility the President faces, Don Vito, is being the defender of the Constitution and the leader of all the people. It is all the people who must be lead to defend the Constitution.

It is not I that would call him out for the use of the nuclear option, it is you and your friends.

So, just to be clear, you're saying that it would be moral and legal for the United States to take a pre-emptive nuclear strike against a country that posed no imminent threat? Why would this be desirable? Does it strike you this would make the US safer?

FWIW, although I am a military member, I surely don't advise the President. That said, I doubt very seriously you'd find anyone in his cabinet or the Pentagon, both dominated by neoconservative hawks, who would have advocated what you're describing.

If you had your way, which countries would we nuke, and why?

I pity you. You are experiencing cognitive dissonance. You've poured your heart and soul into supporting Bush, yet deep inside, you've come to realize he is the antithesis of everything you value. You can't accept the truth, so you attack me. That's OK. I've got broad shoulders. If it makes you feel better, give me your best shot.

Just try not to bob your head so much. I wouldn't want you to spill your Kool-Aid.

Burkett's credibility was never very high

Wait just a minute!

Dan Rather described Burkett as an "unimpeachable source"

Liberals were ready to label Bush AWOL based upon this "unimpeachable source" just a week ago!

Now that Burkett is ratting out Lockhart (and by implication the DNC, Kerry Campaign and Kerry himself), he has suddenly become less credible.

Which is it?

flip-flop-flip-flop....
And the diversions continue.

I love the way the Bush worshipers ignore the mountains of evidence, accumulated over many years, reinforcing the conclusion that Bush did not fulfill his Guard responsibilities (a/k/a AWOL by some). Instead, they focus solely on the authenticity of copies of three memos, memos whose content has been independently corroborated, acting as if those questions somehow invalidate all the other evidence. Sorry, not even close.

Flop, flop, flop*

(*That's the sound of the Bushies flopping on the shore, gasping for breath, trying desperately to avoid the bright light of truth and flip themselves back into the murky waters of their Bush-is-God delusion.)
If Cad is done diverting, let's get back to the "Rathergate" non-story. Here's where I left off. The "Rathergate" circus is only a sideshow. It is yet another diversion from Bush's abominable record.

No, it's not a diversion. The "4th estate" has been caught red-handed trying to pass rumor and innuendo as "truth". Calling them on it is not a "diversion". It is however a circus - one that blather seems to be the ringmaster of at the moment.
Got anything else besides your feeble attempts at bush-bashing to add to this thread?

Just where did bucket get these "memos"? Why did the kerry campaign "know" about them earlier this year? Who were these senior people who talked with bucket? Is anything going to come out of this so-called investigation cBS is supposed to have started? Or is it just going to be something to let them drag it out so people forget?
Lots of questions...not many answers.

I'm not as inclined to believe this is Rove's handiwork as I was at first. I think it's still a strong possibility, mind you, but I think it's more likely someone who wanted to get out the truth on Bush. We know the content of the memos is probably real. They match most of the other evidence, and the secretary vouched for their accuracy. They are also free of the kinds of factual errors people make when they fabricate records, e.g., the forged Niger documents that had date mismatches, wrong titles, people in wrong positions, etc.

No, I think we can assume these memos were probably real. The problem, I suspect, is the originals are no longer suitable for publication for some reason. Perhaps they have been annotated in a way that would identify a source, or perhaps someone hand-copied the originals. Either way, the leaker needed clean copies to publicize them. Unfortunately, he made one really dumb mistake. It was all the Bushies needed to divert attention from the real stories.
