How do I remove the BIOS password from an Intel FX chipset Mobo? This is a friends computer that I need to fix by tonight, and he is out so I can't get a hold of him. There are a lot of jumpers but most aren't labeled and I don't have a fx chipset manual.

thanks!

Tried that and it didn't work...

btw, this is a NEC computer and I have no idea the maker of the mobo because it doesn't seem to be written anywhere. There is a huge bunch of jumpers right beside the battery and I am sure one of them does it somehow.

The following advice is to be used if you own the MB and you dont care about the MB:
step 1: take a hammer
step 2: take the CPU and ram out of the MB
step 3: take the MB out of the case, and put it on something that makes the MB waist high
step 4: smash the MB to little pieces
OR
play around w/the jumpers
j/k:)

The jumper will be labelled and will probably be located near the BIOS chip.. you should be able to find it :)

It could be labelled CLR_CMOS or something like that ...

hmm... I was thinking along the lines of using a golf club, but a hammer will do... don't know what I will say to my buddy though ;)

I found the jumper! It was really poorly labeled... the jumper diagram was also right underneath the PS (which is at the bottom of the case for some stupid reason).

thanks for the help!
