<< LMFAO! I have another treat for you people!

http://www.ac2hq.com

This is a newly designed site. Made by the same person and two friends. Took them an entire weekend. Check out that fake counter. What a nice touch!
>>

still bad photoshop work, but alot better than the other site.
its not a fake counter.. except it probably started at 40000 or even more. Yeah, definetly more.

still sucks but alot better than the other crap

<< Lots of animated gifs = amateur / cheesy. We're no longer in 1997.
I hope he falls into a puddle of AIDS.
>>

Heh heh...

1. Color scheme sucks balls.
2. Never, EVER put crap on my cursor.
3. Animated gifs were cool.. back in 1995.
4. Neon-on-black never has and never will be acceptable.
5. Do not clump all the site's content into three unspaced colums.
6. What's the point of "quicklinks" when the entire page is just that...a PAGE??

Want me to keep going?
Your goober friend's site is one gigantic web design faux pas. He should be kicked in the sack.

I made this site for my friend: Platinumkicks.com

Although the design is not very professional, I had to write a script that organizes his collection for the shoes. It basically manages his inventory. My question is:

Do you think for $300 he got a good deal?

I basically setup up everything from editing the images, writing most of the scripts, setting up his web account, etc.. How much would you have charged?

OK if it were a hobby site, but no good as a professional site, too cluttered, oddball mouse icons and animated gifs all over kill the professional impact. Overall, I would like it for a personal site.

Ignoring the aesthetic problems (i.e. my eyes hurt), there are a few glaring usability problems.

1) pages have an inconsistent format. user has to find navigation links each time he goes to a new page type. I looked briefly and found 4 different page layouts. Frames on some pages, not on others.

2) navigation links do not cross between 'music' and 'enterprise' sections (actually, the drop down menu on the enterprise home page allows the user to jump to music page, but there is no way back other than the back button)

3) its not obvious what is linked and what isn't. This results in the user having to mouse over everything on the page to find out what is clickable.

LOL, they started the counter at 40400. How lame! I know that because this site has been up for less than a week, and when i visited it a few days ago, the counter was in 40450's. Now it's 40495, and that's probably mostly people from this therad.

<< purple and yello don't mix too well. 🙁 >>

Agreed, I like the purple though, just need something with it besides yellow which is one color I hate the most of.

Well for starters, you should never use Java on a webpage unless you're creating a real
web-based application. Not sure what it was being used for there, since it just listed a bunch
of classes and did nothing. I can only shake my head when I see people use Java for button
mouseovers - that's crazy.

The animated suns and rotating leafs were a major web cliche back in '98.

Not sure why you used a white bg on the front page, but black throughout the rest.

Also not sure why you're using frames at all. You should just copy the header (minus the Java
thing) to all the pages. It would help you cut down from 3 to just 2 copyright notices per page.

Anyways, I voted average - there's certainly a lot worse out there, but there is definitely room
for improvement.

Note to a few people above, this site was NOT designed by me or anyone i know. 😀 Just by a friend of someone i used to know.

poor poor design. background image is a big NONO! color use is also...blech...-_- even i can do better than him at my age of 14. check out my webbie!

I think it looks horrible. Purple and yellow do not look good on a website (and this is coming from a Laker fan). The animated gifs are cheesy. I'm not sure about the cursor thing people are talking about, because it didn't happen to me. And, I hate when links are put in a table with visible borders like that on the bottom of the page. It looks way too "Hey I just learned tables"ish.

what about this site??

www.blackhand.com

It's one of my old friends site. I think it's awesome. I think this is his 7th revision of the site, and every revision he goes through a different theme. If you search around this site, you can look at the main page of all his past revisions.
