I recently redesigned Messedup.net when we went to a forums-only community, and I have done a lot of work to it. To be honest, its not all my design, I took an existing phpbb theme, and did some major graphic and layout changes to it, and added my logos and smilies, and added some custom buttons.

Anyway, tell me what you think.. too flashy? dull?

Good stuff..... looking to be a bangedup.com type place? Looking in those directories, you have some good stuff....

Most of that has been collected over the last year and a half or so, when we ran a full website, which i will be doing again soon.

Well, my 2 cents...

The monochromatic color scheme is a good idea, except you have an awful lot of horizontal lines, which tends to make the whole thing a little disjointed looking maybe try for solid shade of grey somewhere? This effect is amplified on opera as you have a rendering error where u have that gradient bar repeated all throughout the central column as a background tiled image making the bottom of the page nigh unreadable without my glasses. Also, you may want to move your animated gifs/advertisements to the top or end of the page as they draw the eye away from both the top banner(tho the top banner is kind of attention getting for guys) as well as the actual site content. They'd be ok where they are if you could get non-moving/animated ones as the colors in them are not invasive.

The layout is pretty much standard for most forums, easy enough to navigate. As far as organization...I'd actually lose the initial index page with the click to enter link. I'd use her picture elsewhere and just go directly to the forum page, but that's just me.
