They are still trying to make things work on their Asus Maximus II Formula board via bios updates which they still haven't fixed yet... last i read on the XS forums. It's up to you, take a chance if you want to.

I'm not getting the Maximus II, I'm getting the V2 Deluxe.

From what I've read on the 'net, people have been having BIOS and dead CMOS battery problems with the Asus P6T Deluxe V2. Apart from that, its a good MB.

Like all things, its luck of the draw; you may get a dud MB and you may not (which is no different to any other MB on the market).

I have the P6T Deluxe V2 and have found it to be an excellent board.

I'm not a big fan of Plextor optical drives anymore, though. Plextor used to be one of the best drives on the market, but they have gone downhill in my experience. I've had the CD laser go out on 4 separate drives over the past few years - they still read DVDs, but not CDs. I've moved on to LG drives and am happy with them.

Wow, the ultimate lurker. 1 post in 6.5 years 😀

I got a P6T Deluxe v2, and hate the onboard sound. I believe it to be the cause of my lock-ups. After dusting off my old SBLive! Value and using kX drivers on it (running vista) - haven't looked back.
Great mobo otherwise...

8/10 for the asus board and unknown sound card vendor

Yeah... ignore the scard part... this guy has no clue what he is talking about.

Although I do agree that Asus boards have gone down in quality for a while. Just make sure to look at the qvl if you go with an asus, and be ready to play around with the bios for a while to get it to be stable.

I agree with his 8/10 on the Asus. I've heard of a few BIOS problems, but nothing that should deter you if you like the board...one of my buddies is still running his 6 months in, and it's one solid board. Overclocked a 920 to 4.2, and it's holding up steady.

On a second note, Auzentech is a pretty damn well known company...at least around where I live

I hadn't heard of them till recently either, but from what I read some people really seem to like their products a lot.

Rate your build an 8 of 10 losing points for getting an MLC SSD

I am getting the Thermaltake Element G Chassis and the Corsair CWCH50-1 CPU Cooler as well I am curious where did you mount the radiator?
