I am looking to build a computer mainly for video gaming and some video editing as well. I have decided to go with the 2500k for the OCing ability

CPU: 2500k (180$ from microcenter)
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB DDR3 1600 (75$ from newegg)
Motherboard: TP67B+ LGA 1155 P67 ATX Intel Motherboard (120$ from microcenter)
SSD: MKNSSDCL120GB-DX 2.5" 120GB SATA II for applications, games (224$ from newegg)
Powersupply: xfx 650W P1-650X-CAG9 (55$ from newegg)
computer case: Rosewill ARMOR Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case (99$ from newegg)
video card:XFX HD-695A-CNFC Radeon HD 6950 2GB, i plan to flash it to 6970 (260$ from newegg)
heatsink: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 (34$ from newegg)
total cost: around 1050$

Very similar to what I just built your going to love it especially the SSD if you've never had one! I got the 6950 1GB for $224 and it rocks for the games and res I play 1680x1050. Guess I haven't taxed it yet with a more modern game

Pretty much fits the consensus recommendations here on the forums for a gaming build. BTW, I assume OS is Win7-64, but what resolution monitor(s) is this going to drive?
