Thanks for that find, I am not sure about a Gigabyte Graphics Card, are they reliable? I noticed the warranty is only 3 years vs lifetime on the EVGA. I've owned EVGA in my past 2 builds and have never had a complaint. It's something to look into though to save practically $100 for the same card with lower clock speeds.

Lifetime = lifetime of THE COMPANY. We all learned this with BFG. Aside from that the likelihood you won't be displeased with performance in games in 3 years is nill.

What, you mean you don't like rice? ;)

Case aesthetics are purely personal, but I'm with you on the Coolermaster HAF (RC-922). Also check out the CM 690 II (RC-692).

Gigabyte are solid Tier1, and as reliable as any. Warranty beyond 3yrs don't mean much to me (already onto my next card), but those extra EVGA benefits do win a lot of buyers' money for good reason.

How somebody can like a HAF and not a DF is beyond me. They look identical! :colbert:

Cases are a personal preference, so pick what you like. The DF-10 is a good case with nice features (dedicated SSD mounting, cutout mobo tray, etc.), but if you don't like the looks of it, there is absolutely no reason to get it. Me, I'm a monolith guy. *hugs P182*

I can save around $40 by getting the CPU at microcenter. I also want to have a motherboard with SATA 6GB/s, the one in the bundle doesn't have that. Maybe I'm blowing that out of proportion? Is it not as good as I'm thinking? I have no idea. I'm also not to thrilled about the look of that case.

The Marvell SATA 6Gb/s controller is pointless. It's slower than the ICH10R in 3Gb/s mode and with mechanical HDDs. 3Gb/s Sandforce drives are faster than 6Gb/s C300's anyway.

EDIT: I hope you weren't planning on hooking your FAEX up to the 6Gb/s controller. A mechanical hard drive cannot utilize SATA 6Gb/s in any way, shape, or form and the Marvell controller is, as I mentioned, crap. 6Gb/s on a mechanical drive is a marketing gimmick. Period. Get an F3 for $15 less.

Thanks, that's why I'm here, to learn! Great info.

What I don't like about the DF-10 vs. the HAF 922 is the clear side panel and the hook things at the top of the DF-10. It's like a nasty black mustache on a woman. Anyway, like you said, it's user preference. I really am diggin the 960 II Advanced, it's probably what I'm going to wind up getting.
