We?re incredibly excited to announce that Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest For Booty will be available for download on the PlayStation Network Store on August 21st for $14.99. Even better news: Q4B will also be available in Europe on the 21st, and in Japan on August 22nd.

<removed potential spoiler for Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction>

As for the gameplay, Q4B focuses heavily on exploration and platforming, along with some of new experimental action for the franchise. For example, Ratchet will use the new kinetic tether on his Wrench to manipulate the environment, and he?ll use elements such as light and shadows to his advantage.

We think Quest for Booty is perfect for existing Ratchet & Clank fans and players new to the franchise. If you?ve been a fan over the years, you?ll be compelled to help solve the mystery of Queasy's spoilerific posts and if you?re just getting started, Quest for Booty offers a great entry point with and action-packed 3-4 hour experience for almost the same price as a movie ticket. Plus, Q4B has pirates? and booty? and it?s really fun to say ?Quest for Booty? out loud with a pirate accent.

I know there's a number of R&C fans here that'll be happy to hear this.

You may want to add that the description seems to spoil Tools of Destruction. I never finished the game and now I know what happens... boo.

Between PJE, this, and The Last Guy, my August is going to be very busy. Don't even need to think about retail games!

I have Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal on PS2. Played through the 1st lvl. I thought it was ok, the auto camera angle is horrible, I got motion sickness.

I'm usually pretty sensitive to that stuff, but I didn't have any problems with ToD. The demo should still be up if you want to give it a try.

We are playing it right now, so thanks for not exposing me, unwittingly, to spoilers.

There's a sentence in the last paragraph too.

Shame Shame! :p

I probably won't ever finish it anyway... it was fun and I actually laughed, but I never play games other than WoW anymore anyway. Last games I played quite a bit was Dynasty Warriors: Gundam and DDR Universe 2 ... go figure.

i cant believe this is coming out so soon. for some reason i cannot find my TOD to save my life, it is just like gone. i really want to finish it again (have already beaten it like 5 or 6 times heh) so that I can finally max out my last few weapons.

All I did to finish maxing everything out, was on the 2nd time playing, go to the arena and do challenges. I use the toxic swarmers for the challenge where you have to complete it without getting hit. Just do the challenge over and over and soon you have the 20x multiplier and the Omega swarmer is fully leveled up to 10. I did the Crushto challenges also, since I could beat him in 20 seconds or so with the swarmers, and just rinse and repeat. The don't get hit challenge let me keep the 20x though, where as Crushto would occasionally get a hit on me and ruin the multi.

wow... I must have slight case of dyslexia. I remember reading this thread but I thought the release date was 8/12 not 8/21. I searched for this thread to ask if anyone has seen it on the download list. I'm ready to cry now. :(

Now I got find out if the megaman release date was really 8/14/2008.

yea 3-4 hours is kind of short, but then again, the full game was 4x the price and was about 16 hours to play through, so i guess it's pretty much the same value.

thing is in TOD, i played through that game like 5 or 6 times, however the latter runs went a lot faster sinc ei skipped the cut scenes and had really strong weapons.
