I got this game back on launch (late october) and played about 1/2 way through it before a ton of other games started to come out that side tracked me. over my xmas break i sat down and finished it .

and then i played through it again on the challenge mode it unlocks.

and then again.

and then again.

and now i'm working on my 5th run through of this game.

this game is simply amazing and flatout fun as all hell. the weapons in the game are awesome as well and leveling them up gives this game such great replay value. also collecting all of the golden bolts helps for the replay value. oh and there is a hidden weapon that you have to collect the blueprints for in order to have someone build it for you. there is also a special golden groovetron that you can purchase later on as well.

i don't know what it is about this game but it's just so much fun to play through. killing enemies with all these neat gadgets and seeing them progress as you level them up is just very rewarding and fun. the game itself is a good 15 or so hours to play through first time. now i can beeat it in probably 5-6 hours, but that's skipping the cutscenes too. graphics are also amazing (NO TEARING!) and it's refreshing to play a game like this in an industry filled with sports, racers, and fps.

i have about 4 more weapons that i have to max out, and those 4 are at level 7 and 8. I'm pretty sure I'll max them out on my fifth run through the game. i've probably put in a good 30-35 hours into this game. so yah, if you have a ps3 i recommend this :)

It's fun, but kinda really really repetitive. Maybe it's cause it's been a while since I played a platformer and also, that I wanted it to end cause I had other stuff I wanted to get into. It was really fun, might go back through it sometime since I only finished it once.

the amount of weapons/gadgets you have in that game made it not really repetitive at all to me. there is just so much variety as to how you can kill enemies.

I actually laughed at the game... I don't get that too often. I thought about buying it for my family when I got them a PS3, but I'd probably gear it toward my little brother and he can't play it ( mentally retarded from a stroke and can only use one hand to play games ).

yea the story and voice overs are great.

there is one scene near the beginning, that i don't know why, I laugh at everytime I've played through it. its when they are in the spaceship flying and the gas comes out that puts them to sleep, and ratchet is speaking about how that gas won't do anything for him and mid-sentence it jus completely knocks him out.

then clank talks about how he's lucky it doesn't work on robots, and a big ass boxing glove punches him in the face, knocking him out.

:D

The weird thing with this game is that I began playing it and got bored kind of quickly. I'm not quite sure if this is because, at the time, there were a ton of other games on my plate that I wanted to get to--but I do plan on revisiting it.

R&C is one of the few games I've been interested in with the PS3. Glad to hear you like it so much. Maybe by the end of the year, I'll aim for a PS3.

i'll say I was slightly disappointed after beating challenge mode, because nothing special happens and it just has the same screen come up at the end, asking you to play challenge mode again or save at your last checkpoint before the final battle.

but i do have my HP up to 999 and the weapons can all level up to level 10 after you buy the omega editions (which are crazy amounts of bolts). oh, and the last armor is just SICK looking!

but now that i have nothing to buy, i have like over 100 million bolts now heh.

This is the reason alot of people think console gamers are idiots. They fight about which system is better. It's worse even than ATI vs Nvidia flame wars sometimes.

Get over yourself, you're not cool or special or superior because you like your console better than another or just can't afford to buy the other one. Play everything and just enjoy the games for what they are.

I got this game at launch, completed it in a week, ran through it again, and then sold it.

I have every other R&C game, and this latest release was the only one I sold off. It just didn't have the same R&C feel. The humor felt forced and different, and witty one-liners were far less frequent than in previous games. The arena battles were less fulfilling and overall it just seemed too "different" from the style of the previous games. I was disappointed that several previous characters didn't re-appear (Most notably Al). It was a good game... but it just didn't sit right with me as the next staple in the R&C franchise. Ah well.

i love the game. and it makes you really enjoy the advancing story, if only really just for the point of having the comedic humor, which is what I love the game for. :) The weapon variety just makes it fun to play, and when you get into those huge battles and gotta basically juggle all your weapons: that's a blast.

one of the praises that this r&c game got was that it went back to it's roots of what made the original game so fun, and that the previous installments had turned into more of a shooter than a platformer. they said the previous ones (the past few) had strayed off course of what made this series so much fun to begin with and focused more on gun combat than actual platforming.

now i haven't played any other than the very first one, so i can't comment on those, but this one reminded me of how much fun i had when i first played the original one.

That's true, and likely why people say what was said above. He may have exspected a type of shooter game and didn't get it.

Haha that was one of the parts that I laughed at too. So unexpected and amusing :p.
