Model B w/512MB @ MC. Not too shabby considering it's nearly impossible to find an etail one in stock and to ship for less.

Is there anything different about "Model B"?

Edit - I looked it up:

"Model A has 256MB RAM, one USB port and no Ethernet (network connection). Model B has 512MB RAM, 2 USB port and an Ethernet port."

Model A was the original $25 model, while model B was originally $35, so this is a very good price indeed, all things considered.

after shipping, its $46, and they are in stock everywhere online for the same price.

there is no more pi shortage- http://www.mcmelectronics.com/content/en-US/raspberry-pi

http://www.amazon.com/Raspberry-Pi-M...s=Raspberry+Pi

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trk...TR0.TRC0&_nkw=raspberry+pi&_sacat=0&_from=R40

the entire reason for the shortage was that Broadcom couldn't supply enough cpu's... but that's been resolved and they claim now that people can buy as many as they want.

?

The links you posted all have the RPi for more than $40 after shipping. This deal can be purchased for $40 + tax at a B&M. With 3% tax at my local MC that comes out to $41.39 and I can get it today.

If you don't have a local MC, it's not a deal. He was talking above about adding shipping.

If you have a local MC, it's the lowest I've seen lately. I just bought one from Amazon for $48 this week.

This is a hot deal for someone wants to attach hardware or put into a custom case.

If you just want a tiny android PC, a Minix stick from Newegg might make more sense even though it's $70 + $4 shipping:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16856178002
- 1 GB RAM, 8 GB flash with ~4 GB free space, HDMI, dual-core A9 CPU....

Cheaper with same specs but the wifi is garbage unless you pull the antenna out of the case. The wifi sucks on most of these sticks anyway.

My point is why don't they offer a $10 snap on case? Its just odd, maybe next version could make a decent HTPC

I bought one of these recently. Got a clear case off Amazon for $13. I was afraid that the Pi would have sharp pieces of metal on it so that a case would be necessary but to my surprise, there is nothing sharp about it so unless you might get liquid on it, there is not a need for a case.

Anyway, I use mine as a web server.
