rareglitch cd keys for half life 2

Has anyone ever tried http://www.rareglitch.com/halflife2.html ? Basically you buy a cdkey for 29.95$ so if something happened to your real one such as you lost it you dont need to buy the game again?

I am thinking of doing this since i really often loose cdkeys.

Has anyone ever tried this from them?

Thanks,
Rich

How about this. You go out and buy another copy of HL2 when it is on sale, and just use the CD key from it. OR, how about writing down your CD key in notepad and store it somewhere safe so you don't lose it?

Well, tighten them up.

Send'em to me. I'll keep track of your cd keys for you.

How is it possible for him to sell them in the first place? I would not trust this in the least. If anyone would do this, it'd be Valve, and if they aren't, I doubt anyone else can.

Exactly. You have no idea where he's getting these keys from. Don't do it and just pay an extra $5 or $10 at the store. As a matter of fact, buy another retail copy for $40 somewhere, and I'll pay you the $10 for the actual cd's since I bought mine off Steam. You keep the key. Then, we'll both have hard copies of the game, and you'll have two seperate cd keys.

I don't think it will work b/c the key you have is for the steam version and his for the cd version - and never the 'twain shall meet

i think there was or is a keygen for the hl2 steam registration, it could be something to do with that possibly.

For all the people that say i wasnt careful enough, i did store the cdkey on my computer, and the harddrive was corrupted so i needed to format. And i also wrote it down on a file that i keep in my room, however during the process of moving to a new apartment it was lost.

But i wont trust these guys, i will go ahead and buy another copy.

Thanks for your input fellas 🙂

1. if you have a steam account you can download the game anywhere anytime without having to put the cd key in.

2. if you own the disc, just write the darn key on the disc.

Pay $10 for a cd?
Did you know you can right-click on Half-Life 2 from the "Play Games"
window of steam, select backup and it will actually prompt you in the steps to burn a hard copy of the game to either a spanned set of CD-Rs or to DVD?

Hi,

My name is David Barnes I am the operator of rareglitch.com

Saw I was getting a lot of site traffic from this link and having reading these shocking forum posts thought i would defend myself.

The steam accounts/keys are 100% legit. They are imported, however to save the hastle of mailing CD with a foreign language for the install half way around the world, I just get the cdkeys out of the boxes and register them with steam allowing you to download and play the game. Newegg sells the exact same imported copies for $39.99

Please no more flaming of my site for no reason.

I am selling half-life2 bronze steam accounts, just the same ones that steam offer on there website for $49.95.
Except i am selling them for $29.95, i dont understand the reason for all the uninformed flaming.
