my meat has to be pink and brown only in the outer parts.
If it's cow then blood is fine, even raw meat (carpaccio), but if it's chicken or pig I won't eat it if it bleeds juice from pink meat.

I'll eat steak anything from medium rare to well done, I usually order medium because they can fuck it up either way and it will be ok for me. I like a little variety anyway so if its not exactly how I ordered it it's ok with me. Every place I've been does it slightly different, so if you're picky you'd better know how the kitchen staff does it where you're at. Burgers I like well done, so as to kill any e coli that might be around the kitchen.

Burn it. All the way through. Then dump half a bottle of ketchup on it. That's the only way to eat steak. Everybody knows this.

Poll failure.. no medium rare.

well done just might as well take all the taste and texture out of the meat..
just bbq some shoe leather and save yourself the cash.

Rare or medium rare are the only proper ways to eat steak. If you answered "medium well" or "well done" then you are wrong. Everyone knows this.

same here. I will order my steak medium but I can eat rare all the way to well done. At home I try to cook the steak medium rare but will cook the steak close to well done if it's been sitting in the fridge for couple of days.

That's my Fil's recipe. I took him to a nice steak house shortly after I married his daughter, and he ordered a NY strip steak very well done, and then asked for a bottle of ketchup. I've never taken him for steak again in the 30+ years that I have been married.

I think he means that medium rare gives the best texture and flavor of the actual steak itself. Based on what? popular opinion, the worlds top chefs, who knows, but I know I've had steak everywhichwaybutloose and I prefer medium rare to all other styles.

If you like steak well done with A1 all over it, you don't like "steak" you like A1 on overcooked meat

yeah, there's plenty of foods that I consume as a delivery mechanism for some type of hot sauce or whatever, but I need my steak mostly unadulterated.

unless it's chuck, or some other lesser cut that needs to marinate in vinegar/mustard/whatever to break down the toughness, and replace its natural lack of flavor.

damn.

I generally don't care how people prefer their food, but when you take someone to spend a wad of cash on a good steak, and they do that....OMG.

We pan roasted some filet mignon on Sunday night, had it with green beans and rice and some bordelaise sauce. Bomb meal.

Medium-well for me. I like mine with just a little bit of red dripping out. Anything below medium is well, gross.

I have tried completely rare before, but as part of a Lebanese dish called kibbeh. (sp?) It tasted delicious, but the texture of the raw meat ruined it for me.

that's not what i meant at all. cows have actually told me they prefer being eaten medium rare.
