Over on tweaktown, saw a link to a really awesome ebay auction if your in to collecting stuff. The auction contains a V4 4000 (20 ever made), a V4 4500 (9th engineering sample ever made), a V5 5000 PCI (a few hundred ever made), a V5 5500 (Run of the mill), and the bad boy himself... a V5 6000! :Q Deffinitly something to check out... im even thinking of bidding on it 😉

Haha, all the rare ones don't work, except for the engineering sample of the V4 4500 PCI, big whoop.

Welp, since they are non-functional and obsolete anyway people are not buying them to use them, just to collect. Collecting is a weird addiction. One man's junk is another man's treasure.

I think you were looking for "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Close enough though.

<< Condition: WAS functional; use to work. I accidently bumped a few resistors off the card near the power adapter port. >>

Now that is sad.

<< He said anyone who could solder could get the Voodoo5 6K working again.. >>

Well sweet then, hope it works for the new owner. I remember when not so long ago people were saying it would be the NV20 killer.

I dont see why people collect pc hardware...an old car is something you can enjoy, but 20 years from now what are you gonna do with a voodoo6?

that voodoo 6000 wont even fit in most agp slots..its huge..

out of the 11 bidders, hotdealdave bid 6 times to push the price up who just happen to join ebay march 1st, 2002.

i should email the high bidder, ask him if he wants my rare collection of 72-pinn simms, i can mark #05 on them if he wants them to be authentic 🙂

Well, I collect some old hardware as well (looks nice on the wall), but for me some old i440BX-motherboards will do as well, cost some ?5 per piece. For that much money I'd rather buy myself a new notebook.

The 6000 is huge! What case can hold that thing anyways??? I dont think that thing can even compete with any of thenewest graphics cards. What a rip off!

I'm very careless with my stuff (cracked two amds so far) but knocking resistors of a PCB is kinda tough to do. Damn shame though a working V5 6000 is worth it's weight in gold. I remember they had one on ebay a while back.....sold for like 2k or somethin if I remember correctly. Of course that one worked 😉

Somebody with a lot of money will scoop them up for collection purposes. Also I'd imagine they'd be pretty pleased with themselves if they managed to fix that Voodoo5 6000.

whose selling it? could be a total rip off, ya know...

hey look a 2mb trident card... ok got a 3dfx sticker... some paint.... hmmm... HEY!! a voodoo6!!! wowwww!!!! 😀
