Raptor shows up as 0GB

This is the second raptor i've had problems with the first one was doa rma'd it and it runs fine in my friend system, but I put a raptor in my system and it gets recognized by both sata controllers but shows up as 0GB is there something special i have to do? I installed the Raid drivers and sata drivers for xp but I didn't give me the option to install windows on the raptor only the seagate. It's an OEM bare drive could this play a factor?

I'm going to run WD's diagnostics tonight when I get home from work. Any suggestions?

Here are my system specs:
neopower 480
Asus A8n-SLI Deluxe <- Haven't upgraded bios yet.
3200+ winny
corsair twinx 1024 pc3200xl
Leadtek 6800GT
audigy 2 ZS Platinum
36GB WD Raptor
Seagate 160GB w/NCQ

The raptors are pretty new, I would start with a BIOS flash, then see how it goes. If it still doesn't work, post again.

Raptors are hardly new. Where do you get the 0gb reading from?

i got it from my raid controllers both pick it up as 0GB's, it's the weirdest thing. I going to flash the bios tonight i'll post back with results. thanks for the help!

If you are trying to install windows on the raptor, your other drives should be disconnected. Also..why are you trying to use the raid controler for a single drive..?? Raid is for using multiple drives..you should disable the raid function of the SATA controler if you aren't using raid..

sorry i ment sata controllers have i have raid disabled i'll try the install again with just the raptor, i updated my bios to 1006 that didn't do anything. but i'll try reinstalling.

Ok retried installing xp on both sata controllers gave windows the drivers, nothing. ran datalife couldn't detect my drive! i'm rmaing it, thank's for the help every body!
