Hi

I want to buy a fast disk as a boot disk.
Which is better the 36 or 74 in terms of quilty and price?

74gig will run a little faster because it has denser plates that's what i'd go with if money didn't matter that much i think its worth the extra

The 74GB raptor is going for $177 at newegg which is only $67 over the 36GB. From what I understand the 74GB version has better performence.

74 is better, a lil faster, newer, quieter. Install your games on here as well. With new games installing at 5GB each, it wont take long to justify the 74GB over the 36GB.

hehe, i had a 20 gig partition for installing games that i've had for a few years and now w/ hl2 and ut2k3 taking up 10 gigs i'm gonna have to update that partition size

74 is newer, faster, and quieter. I'm getting 70MB/sec read. No partition though. Why are you still doing that when HDs are so cheap now a days.

organization, im actually getting a 74 gig raptor im not gonna partition is- the main reason i partition is to save data on a reformat i keep all my program data even though i have to reinstall all my progeys and just lose the windows partition

Honestly I wouldn't waste my money. I bought a Hitachi 250gb hardrive and I push the button and it is in Windows so fast it is ridiculous. This system is great
