Well, apparently CSI either did a lil ripped from the headlines, or PCP-heads do a lot of flesh eating. Sunday nights show involved one story line about a highschool guy and girl high on PCP, where the girl attacked the guy's girlfriend, and well she beat her down and did the same thing as this rapper. coincidence maybe.

I'm not having any luck finding any of the original articles, but I remember when this was reported a year ago. IIRC, he wasn't trying to "hone his 'Gangsta' image"; he and friend were fscked up on PCP and attacked the victim. I can't be positive, but I'm pretty sure this story was the inspiration for an episode of CSI that ran sometime last fall (two students smoked a PCP-laced joint, and then attacked a third, tearing open her chest and eating some of her organs).
 
It's a a terrible thing indeed, but I find it absolutely ridiculous to believe that this was done in the name of selling records. This is an act of obvious mental disorder, how could anyone even think of claiming this was a marketing ploy?

Upon closer reading, it appears she's claiming the record company provided her son with mind-altering drugs, urging/hoping that would lead him to engage in risky/criminal behavior.

I wouldn't be surprised if record labels hook their artists up with illegal substances, etc... but for the purpose of encouraging the artists "to encourage (them) to act out in an extreme violent manner so as to make them more marketable as 'Gansta Rap' artists"?

Hmm.

So this is probably an attempt on the mother's part to pass the blame. It's never anyone's fault, it's always someone else's.
 
That is disgusting. Regardless of what celebrity status he obtains from this, he should be held accountable and punished accordingly. The record label will probably end up profiting from it though.

exactly, like i said above, that episode just happened to reair last night. it was really disturbing too, i can't believe it really happened though, that's even worse. (of course in CSI they added that the victim had ecoli, and therefore so did the attackers)

I was just thinking the same thing..just watched that last night and now this...man i hope this isn't a trend but let this be a lesson to you kiddies!! PCP aint a good thing..know that!
