Rapid-fire mouse clicks?

Are there any programs that allow rapid-fire (auto) mouse clicks with adjustable rate?

For instance, when playing FPS games, my current MS Intellimouse Optical Explorer mouse left-button is assigned to Primary Fire. I somehow messed up the button so I sometimes get 2-3 round burst fire with 1 click.

I found that if I took advantage of this, I could make any semi-auto firearm fire in burst or auto mode and it was a lot more controllable than the auto/burst mode in the game.

Now if I could control this ability and make it fire in burst/auto on demand at a slightly slower rate of fire, it would kick serious azz.

I hate Newegg's Rosewill house brand because I bought several of their $6 optical mice and the all did that

It's fscking annoying on the desktop.

There are programs which do this on keyboard shortcut basis. But if you meant hardware I am not sure

Not trolling, but seriously, what did you expect from a $6 optical mouse?

It's pretty useful if you can select it at will (like the old TURBO button on game controllers).
