Again, why NOW?? Where was the outrage when it was mentioned in 2007 and 2013?
Why do you think there wasn't "outrage" in 2007 and 2013? Would it make the situation any better or worse if there was "outrage" then? Is this really that important to you?
spoiler - once you agree to something, it's consensual.
wait, let me re-phrase that; once you CONSENT to something, it's CONSET-ual.
This was much more to the point than my original intended response to NetwareHead, who seems to think that "real non-consensual sexual behaviour" revolves around knives to throats.
Furthermore, what a script says and how a movie is shot are not the same thing by any stretch of the imagination. Most mainstream movies with sex scenes do not involve penetration at all as the shot is usually lined up in a way that allows the actors to cover up genitalia, etc. Just because this was an erotic drama, it doesn't mean that if an actor signs up to a "rape" scene, it a) doesn't mean that they actually get raped and b) it doesn't mean that it's an "anything goes actual sex scene" either. In an erotic drama, or even in a full-on porn movie, communication between employer and employees is more important and more explicit than mainstream films, not less.
If actors routinely were subjected to non-consensual sexual behaviour while on set for any film including erotic content, how many less do you suppose would consider signing up for such roles?
