I like Mike Jones... (Southern rapper) peep the last four lines from his Still Tippin' verse, note this is a verse, not even a chorus... lol:
Back then, hoes didn't want me, Now I'm hot, hoes all on me
Back then, hoes didn't want me, Now I'm hot, hoes all on me
Back then, hoes didn't want me, Now I'm hot, hoes all on me
I said, Back then, hoes didn't want me, NowI'm hot, hoes all on me
Mike Jones- Still Tippin

I love how he clarifies what he was saying in his last line to insure that I get what he's talking about... and they say rap is crap. Open your ears ladies and gentleman. Open them wide.

What's wrong with that? He's celebrating the fact that he's suddenly acquired a number of farming implements. Why begrudge a man the ability to keep his crops properly maintained?

Those lyrics have touched me in a way that nothing every did. After wiping the tears (of pure joy) from my eyes, I now see life from a whole new perspective. Every letter in every word in that verse struck a chord in my heart. I look outside the window, and the trees look greener, the sky looks bluer, the birds seem happier, and my secretary looks even more attractive.

That man is a poet. If I had one wish, it would be that every hoe in the world be all over him.

If I use the logic of your post (one crap lyric -> all rap is crap), all your posts are crap.

"I bomb atomically, Socrates' philosophies
and hypothesis can't define how I be droppin these
mockeries, lyrically perform armed robbery
Flee with the lottery, possibly they spotted me
Battle-scarred shogun, explosion when my pen hits
tremendous, ultra-violet shine blind forensics
I inspect you, through the future see millenium
Killa B's sold fifty gold sixty platinum
Shacklin the masses with drastic rap tactics
Graphic displays melt the steel like blacksmiths
Black Wu jackets queen B's ease the guns in
Rumble with patrolmen, tear gas laced the function
Heads by the score take flight incite a war
Chicks hit the floor, diehard fans demand more
Behold the bold soldier, control the globe slowly
Proceeds to blow swingin swords like Shinobi
Stomp grounds and pound footprints in solid rock
Wu got it locked, performin live on your hottest block" - Inspectah Deck

"Fake nigg*az get flipped
In mic fights I swing swords and cut clown
Shi*t is too swift to bite you record and write it down
I flow like the blood on a murder scene, like a syringe
on some wild out shit, to insert a fiend
But it was yo out the shop stolen art
Catch a swollen heart from not rollin smart
I put mad pressure, on phony wack rhymes that get hurt
Shi*t's played, like zodiac signs on sweatshirt
That's minimum, and feminine like sandals
My minimum table stacks a verse on a gamble
Energy is felt once the cards are dealt
With the impact of roundhouse kicks from black belts
that attack, the mic-fones like cyclones or typhoon
I represent from midnight to high noon
I don't waste ink, nigg*a I think
I drop megaton BOMBS more faster than you blink
Cause rhyme thoughts travel at a tremendous speed
Clouds of smoke, of natural blends of weed
Only under one circumstance is if I'm blunted
Turn that shi*t up, my "Clan in Da Front" want it" - the GZA

"Yo check yo yo, check the script
Me and the gods get it ripped
Blunts in the dip, forty dogs in my lip
Had a box, 'Boom Boom' the bass will blast
We was laughing, at all the girls that passed
Conversation, brothers had begin to discuss
(Hey yo, Ra, remember that kid ya bust?)
Aw yeah, he ran, but he didn't get far
Cause I dropped him, heh heh heh heh heh HA
Not knowin, exactly what lied ahead
My little brother, my mother sent him out for bread
Get the Wonder, it's a hot day in the summer
Didn't expect, to come across, a crazy gunner
"Hey Shorty, check it for the bag and the dough"
But he was brave, looked him in the eye, and said "No!!"
Money splattered him, BOW! then he snatched the bag
In his pockets, then he jetted up the Ave.
Girls screamin, the noise up and down the block
(Hey, Rakeem!) What? (Your little brother got shot!)
I ran frantically, then I dropped down to his feet
I saw the blood, all over, the hot concrete
I picked him up, then I held him by his head
His eyes shut, that's when I knew he was...
Aw man! How do I say goodbye?
It's alway the good ones who have to die
Memories in the corner of my mind
Flashbacks, I was laughin all the time
I taught him, all about the bees and birds
But I wish I had a chance to sing these three words" - the RZA

"War of the masses, the outcome, disastrous
Many of the victim family save they ashes
A million names on walls engraved in plaques
Those who went back, received penalties for the axe
Another heart is torn as close ones mourn
Those who stray, niggaz get slayed on the song" - the GZA

Great, find the worst possible example of the genre, and define the genre by it

How about I say rock is crap because bands like Good Charlotte exist?

OP is just mad that rockers can't repeat a line a few times and still sound like they're in the flow of the song.
Look man, you're obviously suffering a case of penis envy. That's why people like you continue to make threads about how rap sucks, because these rappers can be popular with such lyrics. You're mad because rap is so great that any rapper can talk about more topics of discussion than your favorite emo-rocker. You're mad because you want to slit your wrists and feel depressed instead of celebrating the fact that you have women wanting you.

Clearly you made this thread crying out for attention. You wanted all your fellow rap haters to come in here and post "rap sucks," just like they do to every other rap thread on ATOT. Clearly, you wanted to chuckle and giggle at how divided this issue is going to be.

Get a life and quit generalizing the genre. You're doing nothing more then perpetuating stereotypes.

Anecdotal evidence = lock solid proof.

If you believe that ^, then you need to ask for a refund for the degree you got by mail.

P.S. Please don't start the AT rap wars again. I remember when it happened a while back and it was terrible, unoriginal garbage. Thank you
