Google auto completing search terms for me as I click the search button, adding search terms I'm not interested in, is really pissing me off. I know what I'm searching for and I don't need help figuring it out. I did not want "long-winged sea birds of the Galapagos Islands" added to my search terms or I would have typed that myself, gull darn it!

Type what you want to search for and press enter. You don't have to click the search button. Dumbass.

Same result with enter key, pecker nose.

Incidentally, did you know that with FireFox if you drag a forum botton into the quick reply box, FF copies the button code into the box?

javascript:winopen('messagepost.aspx?postaction=reply&catid=38&threadid=2278687&messid=30527608&STARTPAGE=1&ezquote=y&parentid=30527608','msgrep30527608',710,550);javascript:winopen('messagepost.aspx?postaction=reply&catid=38&threadid=2278687&messid=30527608&STARTPAGE=1&parentid=30527608','msgrep30527608',710,550);http://forums.anandtech.com/me...7&enterthread=y#bottom

You're doing it wrong. It suggests things - which is handy when I'm searching for something - but it doesn't automatically put stuff in.

I see what you mean though normally it just adds like 5 results that it suggests then your real results continue.

What scared me is when they added those arrows to rank a site higher since that could let people screw over your site's rank, but it's for you only, so that made me feel better. :p

Not if you turn that feature off...

But then again, I'd hardly expect someone who freqquents a forum for computer geeks to figure that out...:p

stop clicking it :p

doesn't automatically do anything. Not for me anyway, never has, and I haven't changed any search settings from defaults.

Okay, I fathered a child last night and fed it growth hormones to accelerate its age to thirteen. It fixed my google for me. All is well.
