Two and a half years ago I started using Anandtech. I liked it so much that I became a subscriber. It was a community of friendly computer techies that helped one another out. I don't feel that way anymore.

Here lately, it seems that most of the posts that people are responding with are smart @$$ comments trying to draw attention to themselves or some other self centered post. This is supposed to be a community that takes care of its members and helps each other out; a place where we can share our collective thoughts and be a distributed collection of knowledge.

I wholeheartedly disagree. :|

I apologize for my contribution in lowering the forum standards, but I know nothing about computers whatsoever. That's why I call off topic my home and let the rest of the forum retain the quality of what it was intended to be.

I agree...and I feel that lately, to some extent, I've been part of the problem. It's a vicious cycle - people are mean to me, and I'll be mean back to them. It started in mid-to-late May with my thread about my sister taking my bike helmet and drinking my O.J., but it really pissed me off how people were just downright MEAN to me in that thread. So something changed - I became one of the sarcastic mean-witted posters here.

I'm trying to correct that though, as I know that just as angry, stupid comments from ATers rubbed off on me, niceness from me will rub off on others.

Have a great day everyone! 🙂

Just stay out of OT and you'll be fine. Most of the other forums aren't much different than they were 3 years ago, minus some of the members.

Hmmm, I think any niceness that rubbed off on anyone got wiped off on the doormat, and what little remained was picked out with a sharp twig.

What's that smell??
