MPEG would be nice.

What codec?

.mpg or .wmv

.wmv and other Microsoft made video technologies play like crap on other platforms. I like them using quicktime formats. They work nicely on my iBook.

Who cares about Apple!? :p

nik

Me and the rest of our mighty 5%! ;)

I have never had qt problems on DOS, Windows, or Mac platforms. I cant say the same with .wmv.

Why are some of you so anal? Quicktime takes a few seconds to d/l on broadband, it's totally non-intrusive, and video quality is really good.

XviD is alive and kicking. The team hopes to have a 1.0 version out by new years

Did you buy yours? QT always pops up a stupid banner asking me to buy it.

That said, I might buy it one day.

Do they give you a discount on upgrades?

I dont think they did on that one... Its only $30, so its not a huge deal. The whole discount on upgrades thing is a sore subject with some of their users...

And when I want to watch movies at work on Windows NT 4.0 with user rights so restricted that I can't install ANYTHING, it still presents a problem.
