Rant: When dialing a wrong number.....

.....don't say "WHO'S THIS?" in a semi-annoyed tone when I answer. Odds are I will say something rude.

At the risk of sounding old and cranky; do people just not have any manners? You called me dipshit, so don't get all huffy when your crack dealer doesn't pick up the phone, okay? :|

</rant>

Try beating getting a wrong # call 4 times in a row from the someone asking for person A, then from a different person B, asking for the same person A.....

heh heh...that happened to me a week or so ago. Woman called my cell phone and got ticked at me because she fvcked up!

Damn b!tch3s 😉

100% with you man.

Worst thing to wind me up is when you get someone calling to sell you Something That Sucks (TM), and they launch into their little sales pitch without letting me get a word in edgeways. I usually cough, sneeze or belch down the phone, at which point they shut up and I tell them where to go.

Funniest one was when a guy called me and confirmed my address (well, I say confirmed, I just said "... What?"), and then asked me if I wanted a conservatory.

I live in a flat. Number 6. Which in itself implies Not Ground Floor, Moron.

i don't answer the phone, well sometimes i do, but normally only if the caller ID tells me it is somebody i know

I had a car listed with my cell number as the contact, so I've been answering unknown numbers. Ordinarily, I ignore them.

hahaha... That is one my main pet peeves. I actually even hate it more when it's someone i know who calls me then asks "Whodis?" WTF??? You called me and you know who's gonna pick up!!! ARGGGRRGGRG!!!!

sry just a lil wired

"You have reached WingCorp defense contracting aircraft sales. This call will be recorded for national security purposes. Tony speaking. How may I help you?"
"WHAT? *click*"

Telemarketers and wrong number idiots = permanently eliminated.

I also hate the damn voicemail greetings that go "Hello... Hello?... what?... just kiddin leave you message after the beep." I fall for it every fvcking time!! B4stards!!! *shaking fist*

We had an old computer system setup to page when something went wrong. Well years pass and something goes wrong, at 2:30a and it pages to call our support desk. Problem is that the pager number was re-allocated and so the owner of the pager doesn't work for company with the computer system. Took a couple of days for the situation to be corrected.

well...i guess i know how you feel b/c i get it sometimes too..

but when i'm the one who messed up...i get a bit flustered when the person i'm calling doesn't answer...and instead of saying something polite..like..."i'm sorry, i must've dialed the wrong number"...i just stutter and go "uh..who's this?". It's never in an angry tone..but still..i guess that could annoy people sometimes.

i dunno..everyone makes mistakes...

When I get wrong numbers at work, I tell people who are persistant in the idea that whoever they are calling is here that I am transferring them now. Then I hang the phone up. Haven't got in trouble yet.

yeah that irks me too
i hate it even more when they question me.."are you right? you sure?" etc
dumbass, i answered the phone @ my house.

my friends dad would do this (wrong number)
"is Ashley there?"
"hold on let me check..." (screams for ashley, no response comes back with)
"oh yeah thats right...she left about 20 mins ago with a group of large men."
"huh, what?"
click.

better than saying I'm sorry, but so and so died yesterday

I always apologize when I dial the wrong number. I also give an appropriate goodbye when people call ME with a wrong number; however, it seems so many just hang up on you after you say "I'm sorry, you have the wrong number."

That's not that bad. What I really hate is the tards (Usually teenaged females) that set their voicemail to be song lyrics. Do they have ANY IDEA how HORRIBLE that crap sounds at phone quality? And when I complain they're like "OMG no it doesn't"

I get the wrong numbber assholes back in the best way possible: I go to work at 2 am and I always make sure I get the jerkoffs number off of my caller id and use my cell phone to ring them up in the wee hours(well, for them anyways) of the morning. My cell phone is provided by my work , with caller ID and I never answer it unless I recognize the number. Kinda keeps the fcuktards on their toes :>)

Peace

Lounatik
