Rant on :

What? What's that, professor? That assignment that I stayed up all night working on for your horrible class was due ONLINE?!

Wait a second. Wasn't this a math assignment? I didn't get the wrong document, right? I mean, the first problem was a huge calculus problem requiring over a page written by hand and somehow you want me to put that on the computer? The assignment that dealt with deriving formulas and errors and all that stuff that I couldn't find in the book nor in your laughably pathetic lectures; you have so wisely chosen that it be submitted in electronic format?

Now listen here you pile of crap. Your class sucks. Your book sucks. Your lecturing style sucks. Your mannerisms and expressions are reminiscent of a 5 year old girl and your height at 5'3" and osteporosis bone structure aren't helping. I can only imagine that I hate you personally as much as I hate you in a classroom setting. I don't like your bullcrap teaching, I don't like your bullcrap assignments, I don't like your bullcrap material, and I don't like you, bullcrap.

Do me a favor : The next time you think nobody is answering you in class because they aren't keeping up with you, perhaps you should develop some sort of outline before presenting the subject matterl. Toss in a few definitions every now and again just for the hell of it. Maybe then I won't come over to your house and stick my assignment up your ass, kick your dog, and punch your old lady in the face.

See you in hell you piece of crap.

Rant off

I'm sorry. Did I forget to mention it was due online? No wait, most of the other students remembered. Not sure what went wrong here. Maybe you should get to know some of your classmates instead of sitting around drooling over your latest video card and playing the newest game that just came out. If you had some friends in the class, I'm sure somebody would've told you that it had to be in electronic form.

Yes, I know, it'd be easier for you if I accepted handwritten copies. But unfortunately, you and your fellow classmates have some god awful handwriting. Is that a 9? or a 4? What's with the pizza sauce stains on the paper? It might come as a shocker, but nowadays, most papers, even math papers, can be done electronically. It's quite simple. Microsoft word has built in math functions to make typing things out easier. Or, if you're one of those people that cant stand M$ (as you 1337 people so eloquently put it), you could learn to use LaTeX.

But what do I care. I'm just going to give you a zero. You've wasted enough of my time. My priority is on my research anyways, you should be glad that I take the time out of my schedule to teach sorry college kids like yourself. Who will never amount to anything anyways. Why dont you take this as a learning experience for the real world. I'm your boss, you're just a puny worker, when I say I want it in electronic form, you do it. I may not be able to fire you, but I will delight in dropping your GPA a few points.

Your professor.

For a professor, I'd hope that your grammar would be a little better without fragments of sentences -- Who will never amount to anything anyways.

It's not so much of a problem if he wants the homework submitted online. It is a problem if he expects you to show the work.

Though... can OpenOffice do integration symbols and the like? It might be worth looking into. Not that I find it particularly reasonable even if that's the case. Adding that kind of requirement would basically add an extra hour, minimum, to the homework.

He's a math prof. Just be glad he knows how to write in paragraphs. I'm surprised he didn't just respond with an equation :)

puffff, he wouldn't be able to speak that eloquently after I punched him in the mouth ;)

I'm not upset about the fact that I missed the assignment. I'm an idiot who can't read apparently and after receiving little sleep I mistakenly thought it must be due in class since nobody would ever have an online assignment. I was late. I will get a zero, that's fine. I'll be content if I make it through the rest of the semester without sleeping in class.

I'm upset about the class in general and how it's a complete waste of everybody's time. That's what I was getting at with this. CS is usually very interesting to me but this class just bores the hell out of me. I'd drop it like a bad habit if I didn't need the credit hours to maintain financial aid this semester.

He will get his one day. I will be giving him a nice lengthy review at the end of the semester if he doesn't shape up. Of course it will do nothing in the eyes of the faculty, but I hope he dies a little inside after reading it. I'm sure everybody gets a professor like this, but I'm just blowing off a little steam.

You're taking that annoying Math of Computer Science course, aren't you?

Took it last semester. It was rather lame. Of course we were allowed to turn in assignments in person or online.

You not the brightest, huh?

So you do your calculations by hand, SCAN THE DAMN THING IN, and submit it electronically in PDF. Not too hard....oh...and by the way. Try to pay a little more attention next time. It is obviously worth it.

Wow... that was very easily readable... it had a nice flow to it! Maybe you should change your major to Literature...

You mean to tell me.... you're taking so few credit hours that you can't drop a course without falling below full-time.... YET, you can't keep track of your assignments?! That's pitiful!

You want the professor to give you an outline to help you fill in notes?! Does your mommy drive to college to tuck you into bed at night too? Maybe someone can come hold your hand in class and help you get through it.

Suck it up and study instead of playing video games all night and spending all your time on ATOT. Not every professor that you run into in college is going to be a great one... get a tutor... get some friends who know what they're doing (or at least some friends who would say, "sorry, dude, I don't have time to play Halo 2 with you tonight... I've gotta get that big math assignment done.")

Im with DrPizza. If you are taking so few credits that dropping one class will make you go below the min, then you should have an easy time keeping up with all your classes.

<--- took avg of 18 - 21 credits per semester in college where 1 class = 3 - 4 credits

Right on! Very well said. OP, welcome to the real world.
