Rant: What the heck is up with UPS!

My goodness, I ordered 2 packages from two different places. One was from Amazon where they gave me free 2 day shipping, the other if from newegg on the standard 3 day ground shipping. Both packages where received by UPS on the 8th (and information sent to UPS on the 7th) So you would think that, ohh, I don't know, the package sent via 2 day shipping might arrive on the 10th right? Wrong it is scheduled to arive on the 13th! Whats even more frustrating is the Newegg packages say they are out for delivery, TODAY. What the crap is up with that? the tenth I would have been happy, the 13th for newegg I would have understood, but the fact that a three day shipping package from newegg is ariving before 2 day shipping just boggles the mind.

Can I like sue UPS for false advertising (not that I would, im just a bit ticked)? Someone needs to work on there numbers skills here.

*Cliff note*
2 packages sent at the same time. 3 day shipping will arrive before the 2 day shipping will.

UPDATE:
just checked the scheduled delivery dates. now both packages are scheduled to be delivered on the 10th. I can live with the 🙂.

2 day shipping = second day air?
3 day shipping = 3rd day select?

If you paid for these services then you have a valid complaint.

What was the actual pick up time and date for the 2 day package? And no, you can't sue them. The seller can however receive a refund on shipping if it arrives late.

just a glitch in UPS tracking

I also suggest you either switch to decaf or stop doing so much coke

Last Christmas UPS screwed me...

my address - 417-15

First order - UPS delivered it to 415-17
Second order - they delivered it to 417-10 WTF???

I think they deliberately treat the Amazon free shipping packages badly (they've sent mine to the wrong CITY before)

I find that the overall quality of UPS to be far less than Fedex. It's too bad many web companies are not willing to use Fedex since they cost more. I am willing to pay the extra dollars for good service.

If they receive the package after ~6pm or so then it sometimes doesn't ship until the next day technically. When did you place the order?

3 day shipping just means regular ground service, which will arrive earlier if it's closer to the destination.

royal mail took over a week to deliver a turntable, and it was special delivery.

also with the strike people have had stuff never arrive or arrive very late.

still i admire the royal mail, they'll deliver anywhere. theres some very remote places in the UK that they have to get to and for one of them the postman meets a van on the shore, sifts through a bag of mail on the floor to find the ones he needs, pops them in his bag, hops on a boat for a short sail over to some island, then gets on his quad bike and rides up some hills to deliver the mail.

it doesnt matter where you are in the UK, royal mail will try get your mail to you.

When I ordered my iPod from newegg, I paid for overnight shipping. The package arrived 4 (FOUR) days after I ordered it, crushed so badly that even the iPod box inside the bigger box was crushed. I called and they said they'd refund me, they never did. I called again, they hadn't heard of the person I talked to and they hadn't heard of me.

FedEX isn't much better, but I use them exclusively now.

Ha, I love shipping stories...

I think a lot of the service you get is based on the local delivery guys...my UPS guy is absolutely awesome, leaves packages in concealed spaces, actually rings the doorbell and waits to see if someone is home, talkative...my fedex guy on the other hand, well, last Saturday he "delivered" a package to our front porch, but last night (Wednesday) it was actually delivered to the neighbor's front porch...figure that one out 😀

I have so many bad stories about UPS it isn't even funny.

My favorite was watching the UPS truck pull up, the guy walk around my house and THROW the packages over my back fence into the back yard. He then procedded to get in the truck and drive away.

I once ordered something from Japan (I live in the middle of Kansas) and it got here in 2 days via DHL. Cost me $5. I normally hate DHL, a LOT, but the speed in that particular situation made it worth it.
