That's interesting, I've had CDs fail, but I haven't lost data on a hard drive since 1994 (well, there's been a time or two since then but they were my own fault).

You can hotswap HD's just like backup tapes. It's also extremely fast and well made. Turn it off when you're not using it and the HDs will last pretty much forever.

Ok, I was not insinuating that a DVD and an IPOD were the same thing. My point was that we need a CHEAP and MASSIVE optical re-writable storage system, NOW.
