*rant*: that burnt popcorn smell

every time my mom makes popcorn, she burns it badly. the house reaks right now, and i'm all the way in the basement. now i have a migraine from the smell making me nauseous, and i haven't had a migraine in a long time. grr.

that is all! :)

feel free to post what other smells make you nauseous.

There was a thread a while back on the same topic (worst smell)...definitely burnt popcorn as the smell just lingers....and lingers....and lingers....and...

there was this microwave popcorn my dad got a little while ago... it was honey flavored i think

OMG Mrs.skoorb when I said that I wanted to try that stuff based on the new commercial said that somebody at work was popping it and everyone was commenting on how absolutely hideous the odour was :)

That burnt popcorn smell is awful.. blech.. puke.. Another bad one is gear oil, like what you find in axles. It lingers forever too, and you can't get rid of it.

Hey, i have a migraine too... have had it since noon... normally a nap takes care of it, but this one didn't go away. Not too sure how i got it either... normally MSG does it to me, but i don't recall eating anything heavy with MSG lately.

i was eating chinese food, but that was after she made the popcorn. the house still reaks.

i know what you mean, the thing about burnt popcorn is that it stays with you for a long time. I burned one of those microwaveable bags and the place smelled for a day or two. :(

LOL that reminds me of when we were 14-15... maybe even younger. A friend of mine apparently poured gasoline into the sink, then dropped a match in. The sink didn't ignite, so he leaned over to look in, and swooosh, it came up. Taking his eyebrows and some of his hair.
